१६ असार, काठमाडौं । काठमाडौंको आकाशमा पनि सलह देखिएको छ । काठमाडौं महानगरपालिका –१६ वनस्थली क्षेत्रमा सलहको ठूलो समूह देखिएको स्थानीयले बताएका छन् । काठमाडौंको उत्तरमा पर्ने नागार्जुन र रानीवन क्षेत्रमा पनि सलह देखिएको छ ।

देशैभरको सलहको विश्लेषण गरिरहेको प्राविधिक कार्यदलले काठमाडौंमा दक्षिणतर्फबाट ठूलो संख्यामा सलह प्रवेश गरेको पुष्टि गरेको छ । फौजी किराबाट जसोतसो मकै जोगाउन सफल भएका उनीहरू फेरि सलहको मारमा परेका छन् । मंगलबार नै राजपुर गाउँपालिका वडा नं. २ को चम्फानगर, गढवा गाउँपालिका वडा नं. ७ मानपुर र लमही नगरपालिका वडा नं. ६ को मध्यनगरका किसानले लगाएको मकैमा पनि सलहले क्षति पुर्याएको छ ।

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has received 15 tons of maize flour, 6 tons of beans, and 500 liters of cooking oil from the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) to support rangers to carry out their day-to-day duties amidst the COVID 19 pandemic that has seen a drop in revenue earning for UWA. The handover of these items happened at the Uganda Museum Kampala today, June 29, 2020.

While handing over the items on behalf of AWF to UWA’s Director of Conservation, John Makombo, Sudi Bamulesewa noted that the items were emergency items donated to ensure conservation work goes on unhindered by the current crisis. The African Wildlife Foundation was implementing its COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan in its priority landscapes to address conservation and socioeconomic issues. Some of the detailed activities under this include protected area patrols, canines program support, community livelihoods, community human wildlife conflict mitigation, and community awareness programs among many others.

John Makombo, the Director of Conservation, flanked by members of top management, thanked AWF for the great contributions made not only today but over time for the past 20 years. He noted that the organization has been one of their strongest partners and that the gesture will be a strong morale booster for the foot rangers who will be the beneficiaries. He said that the food will be put to good use and such support supplementary efforts will not go in vain. He also emphasized that as much as interest in game meat is on the rise, UWA is alert doing patrols and monitoring every pocket of the parks in order to rise to the challenge. He argued those with intentions to go illegally in the park to desist. The items received were immediately dispatched to the various conservation areas for distribution.

The donation comes 2 weeks after a popular silver back mountain gorilla known as Rafiki was speared to death by poachers in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park causing worldwide uproar.

डोल्पा   : अघिल्ला वर्षसम्म रुकुमको मैकोटस्थित बुकिपाटनमा यार्चा संकलक र व्यापारीको ठूलो भीड लाग्थ्यो । यो वर्ष माहोल बेग्लै छ । संकलन गर्नेदेखि पाटनमै मोलमोलाइ हुने भएकाले भीडभाड व्यवस्थित गर्न सुरक्षाकर्मीलाई समेत हम्मेहम्मे हुन्थ्यो । यार्चा उत्पादन घटेपछि त्यहाँ बस्नेभन्दा पनि फर्किनेकै लर्को ठूलो छ । बुकिपाटन गएका ३० प्रतिशत फर्किए यार्चा टिप्न सुरु भएको सातामै फर्कनेको लर्को छ । हिउँ जति पर्नुपर्ने हो, त्यति नपरेकाले पनि कम भएको हुन सक्छ’

कर्णालीका बासिन्दा विगत वर्ष दुई महिनासम्म पाटनमै बसेर यार्सागुम्बा संकलन गर्थे। उनीहरूका घरमा ताल्चा लागेको हुन्थ्यो। शिक्षक र विद्यार्थीसमेत स्कुल बन्द गरेर पाटनमै हुन्थे। यसपटक भने असार तेस्रो साता लाग्दा पनि स्थानीय प्रशासनले यार्सा संकलन गर्न इजाजत दिएको छैन। यो जडीबुटी वैशाख तेस्रो सातादेखि असार तेस्रो सातासम्म पाइन्छ। यार्चा उत्पादन घटेपछि त्यहाँ बस्नेभन्दा पनि फर्किनेकै लर्को ठूलो छ । बुकिपाटन गएका ३० प्रतिशत फर्किए यार्चा टिप्न सुरु भएको सातामै फर्कनेको लर्को छ । हिउँ जति पर्नुपर्ने हो, त्यति नपरेकाले पनि कम भएको हुन सक्छ’ ।

डोल्पा, मुगु, जाजरकोट, जुम्ला, हुम्ला र रुकुमका बासिन्दाले बर्सेनि यार्सा संकलन गरी मनग्ये आम्दानी गर्छन्। हिमाली हीरासमेत भनिने बहुमूल्य जडीबुटी यार्सा संकलन गर्न कोरोनाका कारण रोक लगाइएपछि पाटनमै खेर गएको छ। महँगोमा बिक्री हुने र जमिनबाट निकालिने भएकाले स्थानीयले यसलाई हिमाली हीरा भन्ने गरेका हुन्।

All serious wildlife enthusiasts have had, at one time or another, the experience of being charged down by an enraged wild elephant in the national parks and while on a photo travel safari. It is a most frightening experience to have a 4+-ton giant bearing down at you. Sometimes it ends in calamity, although most often if handled well, the event can be circumvented without major problems.

Wild elephants can be very dangerous. However, as much as one is careful and takes all possible precautions to avoid confrontations with these giants in the wild, there is always the possibility that things can turn nasty.

However, elephants, and wildlife in general, are generally wary of humans and will give us a wide berth most often. In the wildlife parks, elephants have got somewhat accustomed to jeeps and human presence, and as closer interactions are possible at most times.

Under normal circumstances, good trackers and other persons who have experience in interacting with wild elephants, can read the tell-tale signs of agitation in advance. The common signs of early agitation are spreading its ears out and stopping the usual flapping, and other displacement behavior such as breaking off nearby branches, scooping dust and throwing it over the back, and even a few mock threatening lunges, with vigorous shaking of the head from side to side.

Now there are numerous stories ( many bordering on folklore) about certain methods that can be used to deter a charging elephant. There are senior trackers ( a fast dying out breed) who swear by specific charms and rituals that can stop a charging elephant.

I personally have not witnessed any of these methods in  practical use, although I have heard very reliable testimonies about such incidents where angry  elephants at full charge, have been stopped dead in their tracks.

काठमाडौं, असार १५ : नेपालमा आइ एस पी – इन्टरनेट सर्भिस प्रदायक संस्थाहरु थुप्रै छन जसमध्ये हन्स ज्यादेै लोक प्रिय नाम हो । हन्सले नेपालको सुगम क्षेत्र मात्रै नभई दृर्गम क्षेत्रमा पनि आफ्नो सेवा पृयाउन सफल भएको छ । अन्य आइ एस पी हरुले सेवा दिन नसकोको स्थानमा पनि आफ्नो सेवा सहजै बिस्तार गराएको छ । लामो समयसम्म कार्यरत हन्स ज्यादेै लोक प्रिय नाम हो ।

नेपालको हरेक कुनामा सेवा दिन सक्ने हिमालयन अनलाईन सर्भिस हन्सले आफ्नो व्यवसायलाई बृद्घि गदै आईरहेको छ । बिगद लामो समयदेखि सेवा दिदै ग्रहक समझ लोकप्रिय बन्दै आईरहेको छ । हन्सको इनटरनेल सेवा काठमाडौ लगाएत देशका बिभिन्न क्षेत्रमा आफ्ना शाखा बिस्तार गर्दै आएको छ ।

२५ वर्षदेखिको ब्यान्डवीथ कनेक्सनमा भारतीय एकाधिकार समाप्त भएको र चीन इन्टरनेट संजाल औपचारिकरुपमै जोडिन थालेपछि नेपालमा हाल संचालनमा रहेका आई एस पि हरुले धमाधम आफ्नो सेवालाई फराकिलो पार्न शाखा कार्यलयहरु बिस्तार गरिहेका छन् । ग्रहकलाई सन्तुटि दिदै चुस्त रुपमा सेवा प्रदान गर्न लागीएको जनाइएको छ ।

नेपाल दुरसञ्चार प्राधिकरणको तथ्याङ्क अनुसार  व्यापक विस्तार भइरहँदा इण्टरनेट प्रयोगकर्ताको सङ्ख्या पनि त्यसैअनुसार बढ्दै गएको छ।  देशभर एक करोड ५५ लाख ५६ हजारले इण्टरनेट प्रयोग गरिरहेका छन्। यो कुल जनसङ्ख्याको ५८.७२ प्रतिशत हो। तथ्याङ्क अनुसार कुल इण्टरनेट प्रयोगकर्तामध्ये एक करोड ४९ लाख ३० हजारले मोबाइलबाटै इण्टरनेट प्रयोग गर्छन्।  दुरसञ्चार सेवा प्रदायकबीच मोबाइल इण्टरनेटको पहुँच विस्तारमा भएको प्रतिस्पर्धाले इण्टरनेट प्रयोग गर्नेको सङ्ख्यामा व्यापक वृद्धि आएको प्राधिकरणको तथ्याङ्कले देखाउँछ।  नेपालमा अहिले सेवा प्रदायकले मोबाइलबाहेक डायल अप, वायरलेस, अप्टिकल फाइबर, एडीएसएल, सीडीएमए, इभीडीओ, वाइम्याक्स र भीस्याटमार्फत पनि इण्टरनेट उपलब्ध गराइरहेका छन्।  यसमध्ये ८० लाख १३ हजारले नेपाल टेलिकमको इण्टरनेट प्रयोग गर्छन्। सरकारले सन् २०२० सम्म नेपालभर ब्रोडब्याण्ड इण्टरनेट पुर्याउने लक्ष्यसहित अप्टिकल फाइबर बिछ्याउने प्रक्रिया पनि अघि बढाएको छ।

नयाँदिल्ली : हरिद्धारस्थित पतञ्जली आयुर्वेदले कोभिड १९ विरुद्धको औषधि भन्दै मंगलबार ‘कोरोनिल’ नामको एक आयुर्वेदिक औषधि सार्वजनिक गरेको थियो । कोरोनाको बिश्व माहामरी भैरहेको बेलमा झुटो प्रचार गदै बिना अनुमति औपाधी बिक्री बितरण गर्ने थालेपछि रामदेब बिरुद्घ मुद्घा दर्ता चलाईएको हो ।

पतञ्जलीको अर्को उत्पादनको रुपमा सार्वजनिक गरिएको भन्दै कोभिड १९ का बिरामीलाई त्यसले निको हुने दावी रामदेव लगायतको थियो । भारतमा सरकारको स्वीकृति विना नै कोभिड १९ को औषधि भन्दै आयुर्वेदिक औषधि सार्वजनिक गरेकोमा भारतीय योग गुरु रामदेवविरुद्ध मुद्दा दर्ता भएको छ । रामदेवसँगै आचार्य बालकृष्ण, बिएस तोमर, तोमरका छोरा अनुराग तोमर र वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक अनुराग भर्सनेमाथि पनि मुद्दा दायर भएको छ ।

काठमाडौं : हिजोअस्ति दक्षिणबाट उत्तरतर्फ बगेको हावाको वेगले उक्त फट्यांग्रालाई भारतको बिहार र उत्तर प्रदेश राज्यको विभिन्न सीमा हुँदै नेपालमा ल्याइपुर्‍याएको छ । नेपाल सरकारको दाबीलाई झुटो सावित गर्दै सलह फट्यांग्राको बथान शनिबार नेपाल छिरेको छ । नेपालको तराई क्षेत्रमा बिहान ७ देखि ८ बजेको बीचमा त्यसको बथानै देखा परेको हो ।

कृषि बाली सखाप पार्ने किराका रुपमा चिनिएको सलहको समूह नेपाल छिरेको छ । भारतको बिहार हुँदै सलहको समूह नेपाल छिरेको कृषि मन्त्रालय स्रोतले जनाएको छ । सलहको सानो समूह शनिवार नेपाल प्रबेश गरेको जनाइएको छ । शनिवार बिहान बारा, पर्सा र सर्लाहीमा सलहको समूह देखिएको जनाइएको छ । उक्त सलह कस्तो खालको र कति संख्यामा छन् भन्नेबारे सबिस्तृत जानकारी आइसकेको छैन ।

कोरोना संक्रमण बढ्दै गएको अवस्थामा सलहले कृषि क्षेत्र ध्वस्त पारे समस्या झनै विकराल बन्ने चिन्ता विज्ञले व्यक्त गरेका छन् । कृषि तथा पशुपन्छी विकास मन्त्रालयअन्तर्गतको प्लान्ट क्वारेन्टाइन तथा विषादी व्यवस्थापन केन्द्रका अनुसार यसको बथान बिस्तारै अन्य जिल्लामा पनि प्रवेश गर्दै छ । नेपाल र बंगलादेशमा यसलाई आवश्यक पर्ने हावा तथा मनसुनी वर्षा प्रतिकूल बनेको प्रतिवेदन उपलब्ध गराएको थियो । केन्द्रले शनिबार प्रवेश गरेको फट्यांग्रा सलह हो कि होइन भनेर वैज्ञानिक रूपमा पुष्टि गर्न कृषिज्ञान केन्द्रका विज्ञ कर्मचारी खटाएको थियो । विज्ञ कर्मचारीलाई उच्च गुणस्तरको क्यामेराबाट फट्यांग्राको टाउको, पेट, एन्टिना, आकारप्रकार र रङको बारेमा तस्बिर लिन भनिएको थियो । विज्ञले यो किरा नियन्त्रण गर्न केही विषादी र प्रयोग गर्न परिमाण पनि सुझाएका छन् । मालाथिन नामको विषादी ५० प्रतिशत इसी, ल्याम्डा साइहेलोथ्रिन ५ प्रतिशत इसी, क्लोरपाइरिफोस २० प्रतिशत इसी, डेल्टामेथ्रिन २.८ प्रतिशत इसी र डेल्टामेथ्रिन ११ प्रतिशत इसीमध्ये कुनै एक विषादी प्रयोग गर्न सकिने जनाइएको छ ।

The Israeli Bar and Nightclub Association (Israel Night Union) joined the International Nightlife Association. With this new entry, the International Nightlife Association has presence in 19 countries already, with member associations in Italy, Spain, India, U.S.A, Colombia, Ecuador and now Israel, but also individual members in China, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Croatia, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the United Arab Emirates.

The International Nightlife Association is a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and is the only worldwide nightlife association with the main goal of uniting the nightlife industry. All this while excelling and giving prestige to the industry by launching quality seals like the Triple Excellence in Nightlife, GastroMoon, or the Sanitized Venue seal we have recently launched in order to distinguish those clubs that have invested in protective measures to fight against COVID 19. The International Nightlife Association also annually launches the list of “The World’s 100 Best Clubs” and defends only on-licensed clubs that comply with laws and regulations.

Israel is gaining greater international fame every year and hosts an incredibly diverse night scene with options from mega nightclubs to neighborhood bars. The Israeli Bar and Nightclub Association represents tens of thousands of bars and nightclubs also including owners, bartenders, waiters, stage workers, DJ’s, PR’s among other important players.

The Israeli Bar and Nightclub Association was established a decade ago and nowadays is taking major steps in moving forward and going on an independent path as an autonomous body. The main aim is to bring forth the Israeli night scene and to shine its light over the international arena.

According to Mr. Khalil Myroad, representative of the Israeli Night Union, “The night scene in Israel is a huge economic engine that also brings businesses around it such as taxis, kiosks, restaurants and more into the bloom of the second half of the day. For this reason, we have decided to join forces with the International Nightlife Association in order to get the cultural recognition the industry deserves in front of the Israeli Government and also position Israeli nightlife at a worldwide level”.

On the other hand, Mr. Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, Secretary-General of the International Nightlife Association has stated: “We are proud to have the Israeli Night Union among us, since the bigger we are and the more countries we have a presence in, the stronger our industry will be. Taking into account the difficult times our sector is living it will be necessary to stay more united and stronger than ever before”.

Israeli nightclubs are implementing the Sanitized Venue seal

As you already know, the latest quality seal developed by the International Nightlife Association is a sanitary seal, developed to allow customers, when venues reopen, to identify those clubs that offer greater sanitary protection.

बुटवल : शनिबार प्रदेश २ मा देखिएको सलह किरा प्रदेश ५ को रुपन्देहीमा पनि देखा परेको छ । भारतीय सीमा क्षेत्रमा देखिदै आएका सलह रूपन्देही पसेका हुन् । शनिबार दिउँसो रूपन्देहीको बुटवल क्षेत्रमा सलह देखिएको हो ।  कीरा देखिएको खबर प्राप्त हुनासाथ कीट विज्ञसहित कृषि विज्ञहरु छलफल र अनुसन्धानमा जुटेका छन् । घाम नै छेलिने गरी उडेर आउने सलहको झुण्ड जहाँ बस्छ, त्यहाँको हरियाली केहीबेरमै उजाड बन्छ । दिउसो करिब एक बजे बुटवलको कालिकानगर, गोलपार्क, सुख्खानगर, रामनगर लगायतका क्षेत्रमा सलह देखिएको भन्दै स्थानीयले प्रदेश सरकारका पदाधिकारी तथा विज्ञहरुलाई खबर गरेका थिए । प्लान्ट क्वारेन्टाइन तथा विषादी व्यवस्थापन केन्द्रले गरेको अध्ययन अनुसार सन् १९६० मा काठमाडौं उपत्यकामा सलह देखिएको थियो ।

नेपालमा यस वर्ष सलह भित्रिन नसक्ने निचोडसहित सरकारी अध्ययन प्रतिवेदन बनेको २२ दिनपछि नेपालका दुई जिल्ला बारा र सर्लाहीमा भित्रिएको छ । सलहले तरकारी तथा धान बालीमा क्षति गर्न थालेको जिल्लास्थित ज्ञान केन्द्रहरुले जनाएका छन् । सलहका स–साना झुण्डले भारतको बिहार र उडिसासम्म आक्रमण हुन सक्ने अनुमान गरिए पनि सरकारी प्रतिवेदनमा सलह नेपाल छिर्ने परिकल्पना गरिएको थिएन ।

नेपालमा सलहको प्रवेश पहिलो पटक भएको होइन । पचास वर्ष पहिले सलह आउँदा नियन्त्रणका प्रभावकारी उपाय अनपनाउन नसकेको जानकारहरू बताउँछन् । रासायनिक र भौतिक गरी दुई तरिकाले सलह नियन्त्रण गर्न सकिने विज्ञहरू बताउँछन् । करेसाबारी, नर्सरी लगायतका सानो क्षेत्रमा झुल/जालीको प्रयोग, ठूलो आवाज, धुँवा आदिको प्रयोगबाट सलहको झुण्डलाई बस्नबाट रोक्ने सकिन्छ । सलहलाई पासोमा पारेर संकलन गर्नु पनि नियन्त्रणको अर्को उपाय हुन सक्छ ।

As of June 15th the EU/EEA, EFTA and UK residents have begun to travel to Iceland. A travel restriction release eminently welcomed by both visitors and locals. This reopening is to be followed by nations outside of the Schengen Area on July 1st. All travelers and visitors alike are invited to either be conveniently tested for coronavirus upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport or go directly into a 14 day quarantine stay.

Having successfully eliminated the virus by mid May, Iceland began to lift restrictions and announced the reopening of the border effective June 15th. Being a nation that has faced catastrophes like volcanic eruptions, avalanches and earthquakes, we were able to deal with the pandemic effectively by using a familiar method – allowing and trusting the experts and scientists to lead onward. And upward we went.

With Iceland’s stellar strategy of data-protection, including large-scale testing, tracing, and isolating – we feel confident in our reopening process while further controlling the pandemic, which will be closely monitored from every angle. As of today we have only a few Covid-19 cases, with no hospitalizations.

The nation is confident and excited to welcome visitors again this summer. We believe that we have a lot to offer to make your holiday adventurous, safe and relaxing. Though the world is slowly emerging from lockdown we’re not expecting any high numbers in tourism, which will make this summer in Iceland the ideal Coronavirus Refuge. As for the meetings industry, we have now opened gatherings for up to 500 people. Safety measures have been taken in all of the hotels, event spaces and other key venues. Restaurants are following strict guidelines, and transportation companies have implemented security strategies.
