Source : timesofindia , At least three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men were injured when terrorists attacked a CRPF Training Centre in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Sunday, reported news agency ANI. The terrorists stormed the 185th battalion camp of the CRPF in Lethpora village in Kashmir valley around 2am. They first hurled grenades and then opened fire. “There is quite possibility of similar type of attack on other camp also,” ANI quoted the CRPF as saying.

नेपालका पहिलो निर्वाचित प्रधानमन्त्री तथा प्रजातन्त्रकालागि कठिन राजनीतिक संर्घष गर्नु भएका विपी कोईरालाले प्रादुर्भाव गर्नु भएको राजनीतिक मेलमिलापको सान्दर्भिकता अझै पनि उत्तिकै बलियो बन्दै गएको धेरैको अनुभव छ । राजनीतिक धु्रविकरण चरम रुपमा चुलिएको वर्तमान अवस्थामा विपीको मेलमिलापको नीति झनै व्यावहारिक र द्धन्द्ध समाधान गर्ने सुत्र बन्न सक्ने चर्चा गर्न थालिएको छ । २०१७ सालमा तत्कालीन राजा महेन्द्रले जननिर्वा्चित प्रधानमन्त्री वीपी कोइरालाको सरकार बर्खास्त गर्दै निर्दलीय पञ्चायती ब्यवस्था शुरु गरेपछि कोइराला सहितका नेतालाई ७ बर्ष जेल पठाइएको थियो । २०३३ साल पुस १६ गते नेपाली कांग्रेसका संस्थापक नेता एवं प्रजातान्त्रिक आन्दोलनका धरोहर वीपी कोइरालासहितका नेताहरु आठ वर्षे निर्वासित जीवन बिताएर यसै दिन स्वदेश फर्किएका थिए । आठबर्षको भारत प्रवासपछि २०३३ साल पुस १६ गते कांग्रेस नेताहरु विपी कोइराला, गणेशमान सिंह, शैलजा आचार्य, खुमबहादुर खड्कालगायतका नेता राष्ट्रिय एकता र मेलमिलापको सन्देशसहित नेपाल फर्किएका थिए । अहिले देखिएको राजनीतिक शक्तिहरु बीचको अनावश्यक टकराव र अवाञ्छित वाह्य दवाव र प्रभाव विश्लेषण गर्दा विपीको मेलमिलाप नीति अहिले पनि उत्तिकै सान्दर्भिक रहेको पुष्टि हुन्छ ।
नेपाल आएको चिनियाँ रेलवे विभागको एउटा उच्चस्तरीय टोलीले पाँच दिनसम्म नुवाकोट, काठमाण्डूसहितका विभिन्न स्थानको स्थलगत अध्ययन गर्दै त्यस्तो आकलन गरेको छ। रसुवा हुँदै काठमाण्डू, पोखरा र लुम्बिनी जोड्ने भनिएको बहुचर्चित रेलमार्ग बनाउन प्राविधिक रुपमा सम्भव रहेको निचोड चिनियाँ टोलीले निकालेको बताइएको छ। चीनको केरुङबाट काठमाण्डू जोड्ने भनिएको बहुचर्चित रेलमार्ग निर्माणका लागि करिब २८० अर्ब रुपैयाँ लाग्ने प्रारम्भिक अनुमान गरिएको अधिकारीहरुले बताएका छन्।
लामो समयदेखि रोकिएको उक्त अध्यादेशमा राष्ट्रपति भण्डारीले अघि बिहान करिब ११ बजेतिर राष्ट्रपति विद्या देवी भण्डारीले हस्ताक्षर गरे अन्ततः राष्ट्रिय सभा चुनावसम्बन्धी अध्यादेश जारी गरेकी छिन्। “राष्ट्रपतिले अध्यादेशमा दलहरुको सहमति कुरिरहनुभएको थियो। उक्त अध्यादेशलाई उहाँले आजै जारी गर्नुभएको छ।” राष्ट्रिय सभा गठनका लागि एकल संक्रमणीय वा बहुमतीय प्रणाली मान्ने भन्ने विवाद दलहरुबीच जारी रहँदा अध्यादेश राष्ट्रपति कार्यालयमा लामो समयदेखि अड्किएको थियो। प्रदेश तथा प्रतिनिधि सभा चुनाव लगत्तै राष्ट्रिय सभा चुनावसम्बन्धी सरकारले पठाएको अध्यादेश जारी गर्न भन्दै सत्तारुढ दल नेपाली कांग्रेसले दबाब दिँदै आएको थियो। उक्त अध्यादेश चुनाव अगावै माओवादीसहितको नेपाली कांग्रेस नेतृत्वको सरकारले राष्ट्रपतिलाई पठाएको थियो। अब राष्ट्रिय सभा चुनावका लागि बाटो खुलेको बताइएको छ।
बिहीवार बिहान भएको विस्फोटनमा एउटा शिया सांस्कृतिक र धार्मिक संस्थालाई निशाना बनाउँदै गराइएको विस्फोटनमा कम्तीमा चार जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ। अन्य ६ जना घाइते भएका छन्।अहिलेसम्म आक्रमणको जिम्मेवारी कसैले पनि लिएका छैनन्।तर हालैका महिनाहरुमा इस्लामिक स्टेट संगठनले काबुल र अन्य स्थानका शिया मस्जिद र केन्द्रहरुमा आक्रमण बढाएको छ।अफगान राजधानीमा बिहीवार अर्को पनि विस्फोटनको घटना भएको छ।
Or, why not do the opposite and head across the water to Norr Mälarstrand and watch the fireworks sail off into the sky above Södermalm? The best of both worlds can be found on the bridge between the two islands, Västerbron, but expect that to be busy and try to arrive early to guarantee a good spot. In the eastern part of the city, Strandvägen in Östermalm is also a decent spot for a view of the fireworks combined with water, and the abundance of bars nearby means there are plenty of places to meet up beforehand and keep warm. For a less urban experience, Skansen is open late on the 31st so revellers can take in Södermalm, Gamla Stan and Östermalm from its hills, with the only caveat being the 120 kronor entry fee for adults (increasing to 160 kronor at 8pm, so again, get there early).
Central Götaplatsen square is a favourite among locals for the speeches, countdown then fireworks that follow – not to mention the host of busy bars on Avenyn – but that also means it’s guaranteed to be full.
A more feasible alternative could be newspaper Göteborgs Posten’s spectacular New Year fireworks show over the Göta älv waterfront. The nearby Götaälvbron is a close spot with a perfect high vantage point to watch it, while other high spots further into the city like Masthuggsberget will also work if it’s a clear night. A fun place to take in the excitement is the square outside Malmö Opera, which will have a light show, orchestral performance and of course, the big countdown followed by fireworks.
Mölevångstorget is also a common place for younger people to watch fireworks, but it can get chaotic so if you have kids it’s probably best to pick a calmer spot. The modern Västra hamnen district fits the more relaxed mould and has a good view of the Öresund Bridge and Copenhagen if you want to experience the novelty of watching New Year unfold in two countries simultaneously.
Uppsala
The busiest high point in the small city is the hill around Uppsala Slott with its view over the centre and suburbs. Happy to do things indoors (and pay some money for it of course)? The Elite Hotel Academia’s restaurant on the 11th floor is a great vantage point – provided you can get a table.
Umeå
Umeå municipality has taken the decision to ditch fireworks for lasers as of 2018, so this is the last chance for the foreseeable future to watch their official fireworks show at Skeppsbron. Things kick off at 11.30pm. Prefer laser shows? Both Lidköping and Boden are scrapping their fireworks this year to protect animals and the environment, so head to those towns if you want to see what New Year’s lasers look like.
Elsewhere
The custom of buying and lighting fireworks to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Sweden means that even if there isn’t an official display in your town, you’ll still likely be able to see something if you find a good vantage point like a hill or central square just before midnight.
It’s also worth checking the local municipality’s official website to see if there’s something more organized going on. Gott nytt år!
A number of rides at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California have shut down due to a power outage. The problem affected about half the park, packed to capacity with visitors during the holiday season. A transformer problem caused the power loss in all of Toontown and parts of Fantasyland around 11am local time, local media reported, citing a park spokesman. There was no estimate for how long it would take the restore power. Disneyland Park said it was only accepting guests for re-entry, but that annual passes were “still good for admission at this time.” The adjacent California Adventure Park remained open, the company said. The rides that remained open faced lengthy wait times. By noon, Toontown’s power had been restored, according to Disneyland’s media relations. A majority of the affected areas were back up shortly after 1pm, including Fantasyland. No estimated time was given on when full power would be restored.
The outage comes on the day football players and coaches from the University of Georgia and University of Oklahoma were scheduled to attend a press conference at the resort and enjoy the rides as part of a promotion for the upcoming Rose Bowl game in Pasadena on New Year’s Day.

काठमाडौं :बुधबार दिउँसो माओवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्ड ओलीलाई भेट्न बालकोट पुगेका र एमाले अध्यक्ष केपी शर्मा ओली बीच भेटवार्ता भएको छ । भावी सरकार गठन, दुई पार्टीबीचको एकता, राष्ट्रिय सभाको गठन बारे फरक–फरक धारणा सार्वजनिक भइरहेका बेला वाम गठबन्धनका दुई बीच कुराकानी भएको छ । ओली र प्रचण्डबीचको भेटवार्तामा पछिल्लो राजनीतिक गतिरोध, नयाँ सरकार गठनलगायतका विषयमा छलफल भएको जानकारी सचिवालयले जनाएको छ । छलफलमा जनताले नयाँ जनादेश दिएको परिस्थितिमा वर्तमान सरकारले नयाँ सरकार गठनको मार्ग प्रशस्त गर्नुपर्ने विषयमा दुई नेताबीच कुराकानी भएको थियो। निर्वाचन आयोगले पनि नयाँ सरकार गठनका विषयमा वातावरण सहज बनाउनुपर्ने बारे पनि नेताहरु बीच कुराकानी भएको छ । दुई नेताबीचको छलफलले पार्टी एकतामा कुनै अलमल नभएको कुरामा आफूहरु प्रष्ट रहेको बताएका छन् । १–२ दिनमै संयोजन समितिको बैठक बोलाएर पार्टी एकताको प्रक्रिया अघि बढाउने पनि प्रचण्ड र ओलीबीच समझदारी भएको छ। दुई अध्यक्ष बीच राजनीतिक वातावरण सहज बनाएर पार्टी एकतालाई अघि बढाउने समझदारी भएको छ।
अन्तिम साता विश्व बजारमा तेलको मूल्य एकाएक वृद्धि भई प्रति व्यारल ६० डलर भन्दा बढी पुगेको छ । तेलको मूल्य वढेकाले गाडी वा जहाजमा यात्रा गर्नेहरुका लागि आउने दिन थप महँगो पर्ने भएको छ । लिवियाको सरकारी तेल उत्पादक कम्पनीले पाइप विस्फोट भएका कारण आफ्नो उत्पादनमा दैनिक एक लाख ब्यारल कम भएको सार्वजनिक भएपछि तेल मूल्य थप वृद्धि भएको हो । यो साढे २ वर्ष यताकै सवैभदा महँगो हो । यसले गाडीमा हाल्ने तेलको मूल्य पनि अव बढ्ने छ । जहाज यात्रा समेत महँगो पर्न सक्छ । यस पछि मंगलवार अमेरिकाको बजारमा कच्चा तेलको मूल्य साढे २ प्रतिशतले बढेर ६० डलर प्रति व्यारेल पुगेको थियो । तेलको मूल्य बढ्दा तेल उत्पादक खाडी राष्ट्र, रुस भेनजुयला जस्ता देशलाई भने फाइदा पुग्छ । अमेरिका विश्वकै सबैभन्दा ठुलो तेल खपत गर्ने देश हो । मूल्य वृद्धिले अमेरिकामा तेल उत्पादन भने वढन सहयोग पुग्ने छ । यसले गर्दा तेल उत्पादन गर्ने राज्यहरुलाई फाइदा हुने छ ।
