According to Russian aviation officials, yet another SSJ100 Sukhoi Superjet-100 passenger aircraft, with 80 passengers and six crew on board. was forced to return to departure airport and make an emergency landing, after one of its portside engine went dead. Shortly after the aircraft belonging to Russian Yamal Airlines took off from Tyumen airport for St. Petersburg, its portside engine went shut down. The crew made a decision to burn off fuel and return to Tyumen.
Collision with a bird was to blame for the forced emergency landing of the passenger liner, the press service of the air carrier Yamal Airlines said. “It was a bird strike [that killed the portside engine],” the source reported. According to a source, the plane was built in April 2017.

“The Superjet landed at departure airport. The landing was normal. Nobody was hurt,” the regional Emergencies Ministry office said, adding that emergency services were on duty on the runway just in case.

The steep and steady decline in the U.S. share of the lucrative international travel market is set to continue until at least 2022, according to the latest forecast figures from the U.S. Travel Association. U.S. global long-haul travel market share is on a four-year slide since its previous high of 13.7% in 2015, falling to 11.7% in 2018. The decline in market share represents losses to the U.S. economy of 14 million international visitors, $59 billion in international traveler spending, and 120,000 U.S. jobs.

But the market-share drop is now forecast to continue, dipping under 11% in 2022, the latest out-year in the U.S. Travel forecast. Between now and 2022, that would mean a further economic hit of 41 million visitors, $180 billion in international traveler spending and 266,000 jobs.

“Everyone is wondering how much longer the U.S. economic expansion can go on, and shoring up our international travel market share would be a great way to help it continue,” said U.S. Travel Association Executive Vice President of Public Affairs and Policy Tori Barnes. “There are some tools in the policy toolbox that will help fix it, and we’re not talking about huge taxpayer-funded spending outlays. Passing legislation to renew Brand USA is the most immediate move to help correct this problem, and we hope this shows Congress the urgency of getting that done this year.”

U.S. Travel economists point to several factors for the gloomy international inbound forecast, foremost among them the continued, historic strength of the U.S. dollar, which makes traveling here from other countries much more expensive. Other factors include ongoing trade tensions, which materially dampen the demand for travel, and stiff competition from rivals for international tourism dollars.

There are some other policy moves to help address the market-share problem without big taxpayer price tags, Barnes said, such as: renaming and expanding the Visa Waiver Program; expanding Customs’ Global Entry program; and focusing on lowering both Customs entry wait times and visa processing wait times, especially in commercially pivotal markets such as China.

“Most Americans believe the U.S. should be the world leader in everything—and with all the incredible things you can see and do in every corner of this country, that is especially true of international tourism,” said Barnes. “But reclaiming our market share is not just a matter of pride—it is economically vital, and can help sustain our GDP expansion when we’re seeing some other headwinds on the horizon. Recapturing our market share should, by all rights, be a national priority.”

If you pay attention to world news, you have probably noticed that the United States, under its current president Donald Trump, is not very welcoming of immigrants. Never the easiest country in the world for immigration, this new administration is taking active steps to make the process exponentially harder.

 ” ठगहरुले फोन गर्नासाथ केही नेपालीले कानुन व्यवसायीहरुसँग सम्पर्क गरेर यसबारे सोधपुछ गरेका भएपनि कैयन नेपालीहरु भने हतासमा ठगिन पुगेका छन् । दर्जन नेपालीले आफू ठगहरुका फोनकलबाट पीडित रहेको क्षेत्री ल फर्ममा जानकारी गराएका हुन् । त्यो बाहेक ठगीका फोनकलबाट पीडित नेपालीहरुको संख्या अमेरिकामा निकै ठूलो रहेको छ । केही पहिले आईआरएसबाट फोन गरेको भन्दै रकम माग्ने ठगलाई बोष्टनका एकजना नेपालीले १० हजार अमेरिकी डलर बुझाएका थिए । ठगले उनलाई तुरुन्तै फामेर्सीमा गएर भौचरमार्फत रकम नतिरे पक्राउ गर्ने र डिपोर्टेशन गर्ने धम्की दिएपछि ति नेपालीले हतासिएर ठगलाई रकम बुझाएका छन्  । तुरुन्तै कसरी रकम तिर्ने भन्ने तरिका पनि उनीहरुले नै सिकाउने गरेका छन् । फोन गर्नेहरु भारतीय लवजमा बोल्ने गर्छन् । कानुन व्यवसायी क्षेत्री भन्नुहुन्छ –“उनीहरुले आईआरएसको भन्दै फोन नम्बर पनि दिने गरेका छन् । कलब्याक गर्दा सुरुमै आईआरएस अफिस भन्दै फोन उठाउँछन् ।  प्राय भारतीय लवजमा व्यक्ति बोल्ने भएकाले र अमेरिकाले यस्तो गिरोहको पहिचान गर्न वा पक्राउ गर्न नसकेकाले इन्टरनेटको माध्यमबाट यो गिरोह भारतबाटै सकृय रहेको अनुमान पहिलेदेखि नै गरिदै आएको थियो । यस्ता ठगहरुबाट ठगिनेहरु नेपाली, भारतीय र भर्खर अमेरिकामा आएका अन्य देशका नयाँ आप्रवासीहरु समेत रहेका छन् ।  अहिलेम्मका घटना हेर्दा यस्तो ठगीमा गिरोह नै सकृय रहेको आशंका गरिएको छ । त्यसैले यस्ता फोनकलहरु आएमा कुरा नगर्न र आधिकारिक सरकारी निकायहरुमा खबर गर्न आईआरएस र युएससीआईएसले अनुरोध गरेको छ ।

युएससीआईएसबाट भन्दै मलाई पनि फोनकल आयो । म अमेरिकामा नयाँ नयाँ हुँ, त्यसैले मलाई यो ठगको फोन भन्ने थाहा भएन । मैले सोंचे युएससीआईएसले कुनै विषयमा भेरिफाइ गर्नका लागि फोन गरे होला । मैले मेरो पासपोर्ट नम्बर, भिसा नम्बर, जन्ममिति समेत दिएँ । त्यसपछि उसले मलाई ११ सय डलर तिर्न भन्यो । उसले नजिकैको स्टोरमा गएर पैसा ट्रान्सफर गर्न भन्यो । त्यसपछि मलाई शंका लाग्यो अनि मैले फोन काटिदिएँ । तर मैले उसलाई मेरा व्यक्तिगत जानकारीहरु दिएकाले मलाई निकै डर लागिरहेको छ ।

काठमाडौं  : गणितजस्ताे व्यावहारिक विषय पाठ्यक्रमबाट हटाएकाे भन्दै विज्ञहरूले चर्काे अालाेचना गरिरहेका छन् ।  सरकारले कक्षा ११ र १२ काे पाठ्यक्रमबाट अनिवार्य गणित विषय हटाएसँगै कक्षा ११ काे विज्ञान विषयबाट समेत गणित हटाइएकाे छ ।  ‘गणितबिनाको विज्ञान’ पढ्न बाध्य बनाइएका नेपाली विद्यार्थीहरूकाे याेग्यता र क्षमताले विदेशमा मान्यता नपाउने प्रस्ट छ । स्वदेश तथा विदेशमा समेत विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि विषयमा उच्चशिक्षा हासिल गर्न चाहने विद्यार्थीलार्इ यस व्यवस्थाले अप्ठेराेमा पार्ने चिन्ता छाउन थालेकाे छ। नेपालमै पनि इन्जिनियरिङजस्ता विषय पढ्न विज्ञानमा गणित पढेकाे हुनेपर्ने व्यवस्था छ । नयाँ व्यवस्थाले विदेशमा गएर विज्ञान, इन्जिनियरिङजस्ता विषय अध्ययनबाट अब नेपाली विद्यार्थी वञ्चित हुनुपर्ने अवस्था अाउन सक्छ । विश्वका अधिकांश देशमा प्रचलित शिक्षा नियमावलीअनुसार बायोलोजीका विद्यार्थीले १०० पूर्णांकको गणित पढ्नैपर्ने हुन्छ ।  शिक्षामन्त्रीको अध्यक्षतामा बसेको उक्त बैठककाे निर्णयमार्फत बायोलोजीका विद्यार्थीलाई गणित पढ्नबाट वञ्चित गराउनु गलत रहेकाे गणित विज्ञहरु बताउँछन् । अब ११ कक्षामा गणित अनिवार्य त हुनेछैन नै, विज्ञानका विद्यार्थीले समेत गणित विषय पढ्न नपाउने भएका छन्। पाठ्यक्रम विकास केन्द्रको बैठकले गत जेठ १८ मा पारित गरेको ‘राष्ट्रिय पाठ्यक्रम प्रारुप २०७५’ले जिवविज्ञान (बायोलोजी)का विद्यार्थीहरुका लागि कक्षा ११ र १२ मा गणित विषय अध्ययन गर्नबाट रोक लगाएको थियाे।
