काठमाडौं:  बिहीबार प्रधानमन्त्री तथा मन्त्रिपरिषद्को कार्यालय सिंहदबारमा बसेको बैठकले राष्ट्रिय जनता पार्टी (राजपा)को माग अनुसार नै प्रदेश नम्बर २ को निर्वाचन सार्ने निर्णय गरेको हो। मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले प्रदेश नम्बर २ मा असोज २ गते स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचन गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ। प्रदेश नम्बर २ को निर्वाचन मिति सरे पनि अन्य प्रदेशमा असार १४ गते नै निर्वाचन हुनेछ। विना विभागीय मन्त्री प्रभु शाहका अनुसार प्रदेश नम्बर २ को निर्वाचन असोज २ गते गर्ने र असार २ गतेका लागि तोकिएको प्रदेश नम्बर १, ५, ७ को मनोनय दर्ता असार ४ गतेका गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ। बिहीबार नै मन्त्रिपरिषद्को निर्णय गृहमन्त्रालयमा पठाइने र गृहमन्त्रालयले निर्णयको प्रतिलिपि निर्वाचन अयोगमा पुर्याउने छ।

काठमाडौं । प्रधानमन्त्री शेरबहादुर देउवाको आहृवानमा बुधबार सुरुमा प्रमुख तीन दल, राजपा र त्यसपछि कांग्रेस, माओवादी र राजपा नेताहरुको बैठकले तराई मधेसका केही जिल्लामा स्थानीय चुनाव सार्ने तयारी गरेको छ ।  आन्दोलनरत राष्ट्रिय जनता पार्टी नेपालले चुनाव सार्दा भाग लिने प्रतिवद्धता जनाएको छैन । एमालेसहितको बैठकमा राजपालाई चुनावमा ल्याउनेबारे सामान्य छलफल भएपनि कुनै सहमति हुन सकेन । प्रधानमन्त्री शेरबहादुर देउवाले अब के गर्ने भन्दै सल्लाह मागेका थिए । राजपा नेताहरुले आफूहरुको कुनै माग पुरा नभएको भन्दै यथास्थितिमा चुनावमा नजाने बताए । एमाले नेताहरु बाहिरिएपछि कांग्रेस, माओवादी र राजपा नेताहरुको बैठक बसेको थियो । त्यहाँ भने राजपाका नेताहरुले प्रदेश नम्बर २ र ५ को चुनाव सार्न र आफ्ना राजनीतिक मागहरु पुरा गर्नु पर्ने बताएको छ । एमाले नेताहरुले भने असार १४ मै चुनाव हुनु पर्ने अडान राखेका छन् । साथै चुनाव अघि संविधान संशोधन र स्थानीय तहको संख्या बढाउन नसकिने बताए ।  सत्तारुढ कांग्रेस र माओवादीले प्रदेश नम्बर २ को चुनाव सार्न सकिने संकेत दिएका छन् । स्रोतका अनुसार भोलि विहान ९ बजे निर्वाचन आयोगसँग छलफल गर्ने र १० बजे फेरि राजपासँग छलफल गर्ने तय भएको छ । राजपाका नेता शरदसिंह भण्डारीले सबै राजनीतिक दललाई चुनावमा जाने वातावरण सिर्जना गर्नका लागि राजपाले स्पष्टसँग माग राखेको छ ।  चुनावमा जाने वातावरण सिर्जना नभएको र वातावरण नभएमा दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण अवस्था हुने उनको चेतावनी छ ।

Twelve people have died in a west London tower block fire and the number of deaths are expected to rise, police have said. Firefighters rescued 65 people from Grenfell Tower in north Kensington, after they were called at 00:54 BST.Eyewitnesses described people trapped in the burning tower block, The ambulance service said 68 patients had been taken to six hospitals across London, with 18 in critical care. A further 10 patients made their own way to hospital.During the night, eyewitnesses said they saw lights – thought to be mobile phones or torches – flashing at the top of the block of flats, and trapped residents coming to their windows – some holding children.It is understood that “several hundred” people would have been in the block when the fire broke out shortly after midnight, most of them sleeping.Commander Stuart Cundy, of the Metropolitan Police, said: “Sadly I can confirm that there are now 12 people that have died that we know of. screaming for help and yelling for their children to be saved.Police say there may still be people in the building who are unaccounted for.

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties was hopeful of bringing the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal on board for the local level election on June 28.  In the meeting, NC President and PM Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal and main opposition leader KP Sharma Oli and chair of Nepa Loktantrik Forum Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar among other were also present. Meanwhile, the major political parties have also agreed to hold a joint meeting with the participation of RJP-N leaders at 4 pm tomorrow.The meeting was held at the Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar’s office at the Singha Durbar this evening.  After the meeting UML leader KP Sharma Oli expressed confusion of the government whether to hold or postpone the June 28 local polls. “The local polls should be conducted on June 28 at any cost, UML is always ready to hold discussion to resolve the problems evolving in the country including constitution amendment after local polls”, Oli added.

The ruling Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre and main opposition party CPN-UML expressed positive nod to the demands of the RJP-N if the agitating party makes a written commitment to join the second phase of local polls in the Terai region. Rastriya Janta Party Nepal has announced to boycott from local polls if their demands of constitution amendment, increase number of local bodies and withdrawal of fake cases against their cadres are not met before the June 28 local level elections.  Similarly, Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel said the meeting dwelt on the ways to bring the RJP-N on board the polls.

Luke Pauling, a junior at Appleton West High School, recently launched a website called NewFeets.com to begin his entrepreneurial journey and raise money for a charity that brings clean water around the globe.

रुकुम कोल गाविसका तारक पुनले नेपालबाट अमेरिका पुग्दा तीन महिना लामो यात्रा गरे । भारतबाट थाइल्यान्ड पुगेका उनी इन्डोनेसिया हुँदै बोलिभिया पुगे । एउटा देशबाट अर्को देशमा जाँदा उनलाई दलालले नै नयाँ दलालको हातमा सुम्पिन्थे । बोलिभियाबाट स्थलमार्ग हुँदै पेरु पुगेका पुन त्यहाँबाट इक्वेडर हुँदै पानामा, कोस्टारिका, निकारागुवा, होन्डुरस, ग्वाटेमाला हुँदै मेक्सिको पुगेका थिए । सडकमार्ग हुँदै भारतको राजधानी दिल्ली पुगेका नेपालीहरूले दलालको सेटिङमा दिल्लीस्थित विमानस्थलबाट बिनाकागजात कोलम्बियाको उडान भरेको बताए । उनले आफूसँगैको टोलीमा सात नेपाली र केही अफ्रिकी देशका नागरिक रहेको बताए । अमेरिका छिर्ने क्रममा सीमामा रहेको पर्खालबाट हाम्फाल्दा बुढाको गोलीगाँठो नै फुट्यो र खुट्टाको हड्डी भाँच्चियो । अध्यागमनले पक्रेर लगेपछि उनलाई २८ दिनसम्म अस्पतालमा राख्यो । ३२ वर्षीय बुढाले भने, ‘बाँचेर नेपाल त आइयो तर यतिका धेरै ऋण कसरी तिर्ने हो ?’ मानव तस्करको चंगुलमा परेर अमेरिकासम्म पुगेका बुढाले यो यात्रामा तीस लाख रुपैयाँ गुमाए ।
