दमक : भोजका कारण गाउँका ४० जना भन्दा बढी बिरामी परिसकेका छन् । छिमेकीको घरपैँचोमा भोज खान गएका झापा शिवसताक्षीका सबै गाउलेहरु भोजका कारण बिरामी परेका छन् । शिवसताक्षी नगरपालिका- १० माइधारका नेत्र दाहालको घरमा घर पैचोको खान गएका उनीहरु बिरामी परेका हुन् । मंगलबार दिउँसो देखिरातीसम्म भोज खुवाउने कार्यक्रम चलेको थियो । भोज खाए पछि गाउका सबै जना बिरामी भएर अस्पताल भर्ना गर्ने क्रम बढेको छ । भोज खाएका उनीहरु बुधबार बिहानदेखि धमाधम बिरामी पर्न थालेका हुन् । बिरामी सबैको प्रारम्भीक स्वास्थ्य जाँच भइरहेकाले उनीहरुको स्वास्थ्यमा परेको असरका बारेमा विस्तृत विवरण रिपोर्ट पछि मात्रै थाहा हुने उपचारमा संलग्न आम्दा अस्पतालका चिकित्सक चन्द्र शाहल बताउनुभयो । स्थानीय काजीमान लावतीका अनुसार बिरामी पर्नेहरुमा घर धनी दाहाल, उहाँकी श्रीमती बुद्धिमाया राई (दाहाल), सासु सोममाया राईसहित स्थानीय पूर्णकुमार लिम्बु, कवितमाया लावती, सञ्जय लिम्बु, आकृति लिम्बु, तिलक कुँवर, आशबहादुर लिम्बु लगायत बिरामी पर्नुभएको छ । बुधबार साँझ एकैसाथ ठूलो संख्यामा अस्पतालको आकस्मिक कक्षमा बिरामीको भिड लागे पछि बेडको अभाव भएको छ ।
काठमाडौं : माओवादी केन्द्रसँग एक वर्षदेखि जारी रहेको सत्ता गठबन्धनलाई निरन्तरता दिँदै नेपाली कांग्रेसका सभापति शेरबहादुर देउवा मंगलबार मुलुकको प्रधानमन्त्री चुनिनुभएको छ । माओवादी केन्द्रको प्रमुख सहकार्यमा मधेसकेन्द्रित दल र साना दलको सहमतिमा देउवा चौथो पटक प्रधानमन्त्री बन्न सफल हुनुभयो । कांग्रेस र माओवादीबीच एक वर्षअघि पुष्पकमल दाहालको सत्तारोहणकै बेला आलोपालो रूपमा सत्ताको नेतृत्व गर्ने सहमति भएको थियो । ‘जाने प्रधानमन्त्री नै आउने प्रधानमन्त्रीको प्रस्तावक बस्नु यो विश्वकै नयाँ घटना होला’, दाहालले संसद्मा यस्तो धारणा राख्दा संसद् भवन तालीले गुञ्जायमान बनेको थियो । प्रधानमन्त्रीमा चयन भएपछि देउवाले चौथोपटकको आफ्नो यो कार्यकालमा कम बोलेर बढी काम गर्ने बताउनुभएको छ । मंगलबार संसद्मा भएको मतदानमा कुल खसेको ५ सय ५८ मतमध्ये देउवाको पक्षमा ३ सय ८८ मत परेको थियो । विपक्षमा १ सय ७० मात्र मत पर्यो । हाल कायम ५ सय ९३ सदस्यमध्ये देउवालाई प्रधानमन्त्री बन्न सामान्य बहुमत चाहिन्थ्यो । तर, यसअघि कांग्रेस-माओवादी गठबन्धनसँग नजिक रहेका सबै दलले देउवालाई प्रधानमन्त्रीमा मतदान गरे ।कांग्रेस, माओवादी केन्द्र र मधेसकेन्द्रित दलबीच संसद् भवनमै तीनबुँदे सहमति भयो र राष्ट्रिय जनता पार्टी नेपालका सांसदहरूले देउवाका पक्षमा मतदान गरे ।
३ जेठ, काठमाडौं : साउदी अरबको सिलिभ एभिएशन प्रशासनले कतारका विमानलाई आफ्नो हवाई अड्डामा अवतरण गर्न र आफ्नो वायुक्षेत्रमा प्रवेश गर्न रोक लगाएको छ । साउदी अरब र इजिप्टले कतारका विमानलाई आफ्नो हवाई क्षेत्रमा उड्न प्रतिबन्ध लगाएका छन् । आतंकवादलाई सघाएको आरोप लगाउँदै मुस्लिम बहुल ६ देशले कतारसँग आफ्नो कूटनीतिक सम्बन्ध तोडेका थिए । यो कदम चाल्नेमा साउदी अरब, इजिस्ट, बहराइन, यमन, लिबिया र संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्स छन् । साउदी अरब, यूएई र बहराइनले कतार आउने जाने सबै बाटो बन्द गरेका छन् । आफ्नो देशमा रहेका कतारका नागरिक र पर्यटकलाई दुई साताभित्र आफ्नो देश र्फकन आदेश दिएका छन् । साथै आफ्ना नागरिकलाई कतार जान पनि प्रतिबन्ध लगाएको बीबीसीले जनाएको छ ।कतारले भने इस्लामिक स्टेट वा कुनै चरमपन्थीलाई सहयोग गरेको आरोप अस्वीकार गरेको छ र, ६ देशले चालेको कदमलाई अनुचित भनेको छ ।
मुस्लिम बहुल ६ वटा देशले सोमबार कतारसँगको कूटनीतिक सम्बन्ध तोडेका छन् । आतंकवादलाई सघाएको र अरब क्षेत्रको शान्ति तथा अमनचैनमा समस्या ल्याएको आरोप लगाउँदै साउदी अरेबिया, बहराइन, संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्स, यमन, लिबिया र इजिप्टले कतारसँगको आफ्ना सबै कूटनीतिक सम्बन्ध अन्त्य भएको घोषणा गरेका हुन् । उनीहरूले अलकायदा समूहसँग मिलेर कतारले आतंक मच्चाउन खोजेको आरोप लगाएका छन् । साउदी सरकारी समाचार संस्था एसपीएका अनुसार साउदीले कतारसँग आफ्ना सबै सीमा र सामुद्रिक तथा हवाई सम्पर्कसमेत बिच्छेद गरेको छ । यस्तै, संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्सले कतारका कूटनीतिक प्रतिनिधिलाई ४८ घन्टाभित्र देश छाड्न आदेश दिएको छ । उसले कतार जाने आफ्नै सबै विमानसेवा स्थगन गरेको छ । सरकारले खाडी मुलुकले कतारसँगको जल, स्थल र हवाई सम्पर्क बिच्छेदको घोषणा गरेपछि त्यहाँ रहेका नेपालीलाई आउन सक्ने समस्याबारे सतर्क रहन खाडीस्थित नेपाली दूतावासहरूलाई निर्देशन दिएको छ । परराष्ट्र सचिव शंकरदास बैरागीले खाडीमा रहेका नेपाली राजदूतसँग त्यहाँको पछिल्लो घटनाक्रमबारे नियमित सम्पर्कमा रहेको जानकारी दिनुभयो । साउदी अरेबियाले एउटा गोप्य मुद्दामा कतारले सम्प्रभुतामाथि नै खलल पुर्याएको गम्भीर आरोप लगाएको छ भने इजिप्टको आन्तरिक मामिलामा हस्तक्षेप गर्ने प्रयास गरेको बताइएको छ । इजिप्टसहित अरब राष्ट्रका विभिन्न ६ मुलुकले आफ्ना यातायात सेवालाई पनि कतारबाट अलग बनाउने जनाएपछि पेट्रोलियम पदार्थका लागि धनी राष्ट्र कतारलाई समस्या पर्ने देखिएको छ । कतारले अधिकांश सामान यी राष्ट्रबाट वा यिनै मुलुक भएर भित्याउने गरेको छ । साउदी अरेबिया, बहराइन, संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्स, यमन, लिबिया र इजिप्टले कतारसँगको आफ्ना सबै कूटनीतिक सम्बन्ध अन्त्य भएको घोषणा गरेका हुन् ।
कतारले भने यस्ता आरोपको खण्डन गर्दै आएको छ । आतंकवादलाई सहयोग गरेको भन्दै अमेरिकी अर्थ मन्त्रालयले कतारका कैयौं नागरिकमाथि प्रतिबन्ध लगाएको छ । हमासका पूर्वप्रमुख खालिद मेसाललाई शरण दिएकोमा पनि ती मुलुकले विरोध गरेका छन् । अफगान तालिबानले पनि सन् २०१३ मा दोहामा शखा कार्यालय खोलेको थियो । कतारले सन् २०२२ को फुटबल वल्र्डकप आयोजना गर्दै छ । इरानले कतार र अन्य अरब मुलुकबीच देखिएको समस्या राजनीतिक वार्ता र शान्तिपूर्वक माध्यमबाट समाधान गर्न आग्रह गरेको छ । अर्को मुलुक टर्कीले अरब क्षेत्रमा देखिएको समस्या समाधान गर्न तत्पर रहेको जनाएको छ । अहिलेसम्म नेपालीलाई कुनै समस्या आउने अवस्था नरहेको राजदूतहरूले अवगत गराएको उहाँले बताउनुभयो । ‘कतारमा चार लाखभन्दा बढी नेपाली छन् । उनीहरूलाई कुनै मानवीय संकट आइपर्न सक्छ । त्यसैले यसबारे हामीले त्यहाँस्थित राजदूतलाई नियमित रूपमा जानकारी गराउन र सतर्क रहन भनेका छौं । खाडीस्थित सबै दूतावाससँग हामी सम्पर्कमा छौं’, उहाँले अन्नपूर्णसँग भन्नुभयो । कतारसँग जल, स्थल र हवाई सम्पर्क टुटाएको घोषणा अन्य खाडी देशले गरेपछि त्यहाँ हाहाकार हुन सक्ने र त्यसले मानवीय संकट उन्पन्न हुन सक्ने हुँदा त्यसप्रति सचेत रहन परराष्ट्रले दूतावासलाई भनेको छ । यसैबीच, कतारले आतंकवाद वा इरानलाई सघाउने गरी आफ्नो मुलुकबाट कुनै पनि गतिविधि नभएको बताउँदै आफूमाथि लगाइएका सबै आरोपको खण्डन गरेको छ । सम्बन्धविच्छेद गराउनुको अर्थ कतारलाई अरूमाथि निर्भर बन्ने अवस्था सिर्जना गर्नु रहेको बताउँदै कतारी प्रशासनले आवश्यक पर्ने सबै उपाय अवलम्बन गरी अघि बढ्ने बताएको छ । कतारले आफ्नो समाज र अर्थतन्त्रलाई तहसनहस पार्ने षड्यन्त्रबाट अरब राष्ट्रहरूको पछिल्लो निर्णय आएको दाबी गरेको छ ।
बहराइनको विदेश मन्त्रालयले दोहाबाट आफ्नो दूतावास ४८ घन्टामा हटाउने बताएको छ । यसैगरी, बहराइनमा रहेका कतारका कूटनीतिज्ञलाई पनि देश छाड्न आदेश दिएको छ । कतारका सर्वसाधारण नागरिकले पनि दुई साताभित्र बहराइन छाड्नुपर्नेछ । यी दुई देशले हवाई र जल यातायात बन्द गर्ने भएका छन् । यसबाट कतार एयरवेजलाई कस्तो प्रभाव पर्छ भनेर केही पनि खुलाइएको छैन । कतार एयरवेज यस क्षेत्रकै प्रभावशाली विमानसेवा हो । साउदी अरेबिया नेतृत्वका यी मुलुकले कतारले अल कायदा र इस्लामिक स्टेटलाई सहयोग गरेको दाबी गरेका छन् । खाडी क्षेत्रको परिस्थिति बुझ्न र त्यसबारे मन्त्रालयलाई जानकारी गराउन परराष्ट्रले खाडीस्थित सबै नेपाली दूतावासलाई सोमबारै निर्देशन दिएको छ । साउदी अरेबिया, कुवेत, युएई, इजिप्ट, बहराइन तथा यमनमा ठूलो संख्यामा नेपाली छन् । कतारमा रंगशालालगायत पूर्वाधार विकासका परियोजना निर्माणमा नेपाली कार्यरत छन्।
कतारले आतंकवादलाई प्र श्रय दिएको भन्दै ऊसँग साउदी अरेबिया, इजिप्ट, युएई, बहराइनलगायत मुलुकले कूटनीतिक सम्बन्ध विच्छेद गरेको घोषणा गरेसँगै खाडी क्षेत्रमा संकट आउन सक्ने अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सञ्चारमाध्यमले जनाएका छन् । कतार खाडी क्षेत्र सानो तर समृद्ध मुलुक मानिन्छ ।
With earnings for the first four months of this year at an all-time high of over US$1 billion, or a 6.5 percent increase over last year, Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett announced yesterday (June 4) that Jamaica’s tourism industry is heading for a historic one million visitors before the end of this month. “We are closing in on the first half of 2017 and we ended the month of May with a record 8.7 percent increase in stop-overs over the same month last year,” said Minister Bartlett. The 971,000 passengers brought in was just 30,000 shy of the first million target which, he said, will be reached by mid-June “and when that happens it will be a record because it will be the first time in our history that we will make a million visitors before the end of June.” Blake and his wife Nadine as they arrive on Southwest Airline’s inaugural non-stop flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay on Sunday, June 4, 2017. With this service, Southwest now has six flights daily to Jamaica from US gateways Baltimore/Washington, Chicago, Orlando, Houston and Fort Lauderdale. Southwest VP Ms. Torbert said the addition of the new route signals an all-time summer records of six departures a day to Jamaica with the other flights out of Baltimore/Washington, Chicago, Orlando and Houston.
He was speaking at an official welcome event for the inauguration of Southwest Airlines newest service, non-stop flights from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. This brings to four the number of US gateways being operated by Southwest to Jamaica since commencing international flights here in 2014.
Accommodation is also being increased by attracting new hotel investments and Montego Bay can look forward to increasing room count by 1000 new rooms this year and over 2,000 in the next four years.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of MBJ Airports, Dr. Rafael Echevarne said some $100 million would be spent on the Sangster International Airport over the next few years to improve services.
“This is an exciting time for MBJ because we are initiating the third phase of our development at the airport,” he said. That includes improving infrastructure on the ramp site such as the apron and taxiway, but also, he noted, “We’re doing runway extension, the terminal extension, renovation of the commercial facilities and many other things, including very important works with immigration to ensure that the experience entering Jamaica is as smooth as possible.”
Minister Bartlett, who arrived on the Southwest inaugural flight along with Director of Tourism Paul Pennicook, Southwest’s Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, Ellen Torbert and other Southwest executives, hailed the airline as the most connected airline in the USA today. “Southwest is moving from more gateways and secondary airports than any other airline in the US and therefore the connection with Jamaica is perfect,” he said. The low-cost US carrier moves 120 million passengers annually.
Minister Bartlett said his Ministry and its agencies were working diligently to provide a product and a service that both meets and exceed the expectations of Jamaica’s visitors and tourism partners. He said steps are being taken to ensure the availability of first-class accommodation as well as a safe, secure and seamless visitor experience, noting that destination assurance was crucial ensuring sustained growth.

They say Qatar backs militant groups including so-called Islamic State (IS) and al-Qaeda, which Qatar has denied. The Saudi state news agency SPA said Riyadh had closed its borders, severing land, sea and air contact with the tiny peninsula of Qatar. Qatar called the decision “unjustified” and with “no basis in fact”. The unprecedented move is being seen as a significant split between powerful Gulf countries, who are also close US allies.
It comes in the context of increased tensions between Gulf countries and their near-neighbour Iran. The Saudi statement accused Qatar of collaborating with Iranian-backed militias.
What has happened?
The diplomatic withdrawal was put into motion by Bahrain then Saudi Arabia early on Monday. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, Yemen and Libya followed suit. SPA cited officials as saying the decision was taken to “protect its national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism”.The three Gulf countries have given Qatari nationals two weeks to leave their territory.
In the latest developments:
- The UAE has given Qatari diplomats 48 hours to leave the country. Abu Dhabi accuses Qatar of “supporting, funding and embracing terrorism, extremism and sectarian organisations,” state news agency WAM said
- UAE airlines Etihad Airways, Emirates and Flydubai said they would suspend all flights to and from Qatari capital Doha from early Tuesday, local time
- The Gulf allies said they had closed their airspace to Qatar Airways, which has suspended all its flights to Saudi Arabia
- Bahrain‘s state news agency said it was cutting its ties because Qatar was “shaking the security and stability of Bahrain and meddling in its affairs”
- The Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting Yemen‘s Houthi rebels also expelled Qatar from its alliance because of its “practices that strengthen terrorism” and its support to groups “including al-Qaeda and Daesh [IS], as well as dealing with the rebel militias”, according to SPA.

Image copyrightEPAWhile the severing of ties with Qatar was sudden, it has not come out of the blue, as tensions have been building for years, and particularly in recent weeks.
Two weeks ago, the same four countries blocked Qatari news sites, including Al Jazeera. Controversial comments purportedly by Qatari emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani criticising Saudi Arabia appeared on Qatari state media.
The government in Doha dismissed the comments as fake, attributing the report to a “shameful cybercrime”.
Back in 2014, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE withdrew their ambassadors from Qatar for several months in protest over alleged interference in their affairs.

More broadly, there are two key factors driving Monday’s decision: Qatar’s ties to Islamist groups, and the role of Iran, Saudi Arabia’s regional rival.
While Qatar has joined the US coalition against IS, the Qatari government has been forced to repeatedly deny accusations from Iraq’s Shia leaders that it provided financial support to IS.
However, wealthy individuals in the emirate are believed to have made donations and the government has given money and weapons to hardline Islamist groups in Syria. Qatar is also accused of having links to a group formerly known as the Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate.
The SPA statement accused Qatar of backing these groups, as well as the widely-outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, and that it “promotes the message and schemes of these groups through their media constantly”.

Saudi Arabia, a Sunni majority country, also accused Qatar of backing Shia militants in Bahrain and in the eastern Saudi province of Qatif. Qatar has repeatedly denied ties to Iran in the past.
While on a visit to Riyadh two weeks ago, the US President Donald Trump urged Muslim countries to take the lead in combating radicalisation, and blamed Iran for instability in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia has also been accused of funding IS, either directly or by failing to prevent private donors from sending money to the group – allegations it denies.In recent days, British Prime Minister Theresa May has also come under pressure from election rivals to publish a report thought to focus on the funding of UK extremist groups by Saudi Arabia.
What has been the reaction?
Qatar, which is due to host the football World Cup in 2022, was critical of the decision, in comments broadcast on Al Jazeera.
“The measures are unjustified and are based on claims and allegations that have no basis in fact,” Al Jazeera quoted the foreign ministry as saying. It said the decisions would “not affect the normal lives of citizens and residents”.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, speaking in Sydney, urged the countries to resolve their differences through dialogue.
“I do not expect that this will have any significant impact, if any impact at all, on the unified fight against terrorism in the region or globally,” he added. Qatar’s stock market plunged in early trading on Monday.
One of the likely knock-on effects is on food stability: every day, hundreds of lorries cross the Saudi-Qatari border, and food is one of the main supplies. About 40% of Qatar’s food is believed to come via this route.The Doha News newspaper reported that people had rushed to supermarkets to stock up on food and water.

CNN host is accused of making what some are saying is a “racist” remark to 12-year-old Scripps Spelling Bee Champion Ananya Vinay who the host said likely misspelled a word on air because “it’s root is not in Sanskrit, which is what you’re probably used to using.” Hosts Alisyn Camerota, who made the comment, and Chris Cuomo jokingly asked her to spell ‘covfefe,’ what Ms Camerota called a “nonsense word.” Ananya, who is of Indian origin, was born and raised in Fresno, California and had just been named the 2017 champion the previous evening. An Indian-American child has won the competition every year since 2008, and Ananya is the 13th overall to do so. Donald Trump had used the word in a now-deleted tweet that read “Despite the constant negative press covfefe”, which stayed up on his account for nearly five hours overnight as social media mercilessly mocked him for the typo.
The next morning, Mr Trump cryptically tweeted “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’??? Enjoy!”Ms Camerota corrected Ananya’s spelling of the word and then said “so, I don’t know. Anyway” after her Sanskrit comment. CNN has not responded to a request for comment on the matter. सिमकोट : हवाई यातायातमा मात्रै निर्भर रहेको हुम्लाका लागि उडान भर्ने निजी विमान कम्पनीले विदेशी नागरिकलाई मात्रै बोक्न थालेपछि निकै समस्यामा परेका आक्रोसित हुम्लाका स्थानीयले बन्दको आयोजना गरेका थिए । निजी विमान कम्पनीले कैलास मानसरोवर जाने भारतीय मात्रै बोक्न थालेपछि उद्योग वाणिज्य संघ हुम्लाको अगुवाईमा भएको हुम्ला बन्द शनिबार खुलेको हो । सिमकोटमा भएको वार्ताबाट हरेक उडानमा चार जना नेपाली यात्रुलाई टिकट दिने, निजी विमान कम्पनीले प्रति किलो कार्गोको नेपालगञ्जबाट एक सय १५ र सुर्खेतबाट एक सय पाँच नेपाली रुपैयाँ लिने सहमति भएपछि बन्द फिर्ता भएको हो । स्थानीय यात्रु र सामान बोक्न विमान कम्पनी सहमत भएपछि हुम्ला बन्द खुलेको छ ।
