DIPESH KHATIWADA, KATHMANDU, JUNE 30 -Ten-year-old Kirti Dahal (name changed) was found wearing an old red Kurta Salwar in

 the bank of Bagmati river nearby Pashupati temple.On a regular school day, she was freaking out in an aryaghat (cremation site). I asked her, “Why are you here?” she replied “for fun”. “Don’t you get sacred of dead bodies?” I again asked her, She replied with a smiley face “No”. “Why to be scared?” she raised question, mentioning that they are used to stay there and dead bodies don’t bother them anymore. According to Kirti her mother is a daily wage worker who works at Koteshwor. “Who drops you here?” I asked another question. “I come here myself. Sometimes my mom drops me here,” she said, informing that she can get sweet foods at Ram Mandir, a temple across the river.
“I have no desire to go school. There are around 15 girls like me here. There are some girls inside the forests who are having fun with boys,”
Ishanath Aghori Baba said there are around 300 kids living in the Pashupati area alone. “The number of children will increase during festivals or decrease sometime, but I can say that there are many kids freaking out here,” he said.

Aghori Baba informed that there are around 8 small girls (10-14 years) in the temple premises. “If they don’t get foods anywhere they will come here. It’s sad to inform but these girls are sexually exploited and they sniff dendrite, drink alcohol, smoke marijuana and even they inject drugs with boys inside Bhandar and Pashupati forests, he said.

Dipak Magar, 14, from Sindhuli with very old cap, dirty clothes and a cigarette in his mouth said he is earning some money carrying wooden planks and straws up to the ground where cremations of bodies take place,” he said. “We also prepare the wet straws to help in burning the dead body,” he said.
According to the Metropolitan Police Circle Gaushala, around 15 kids were arrested on charge on minor theft in the temple area within the past eight months. They have even stolen shoes, mobile phones and small amount of money from the devotees and travellers in the temple premises. Sub-Inspector Dipak KC said they will hold those kids for few hours and aware them not to repeat such incidents.
“We cannot send them to the child homes or any place as there will be no one to receive them at the last hour. We have been compelled them to send in the streets again,” said KC, referring that those kids will be happy to stay with police if they will be arrested as they can get foods and shelter in police stations.
“Medically the problems related to these types of children can be categorised as conduct disorder and very few may also have intermittent explosive disorder or other problems, says Professor Dr Pushpa Prasad Sharma, a senior consultant psychiatrist. Mostly they have a fighting spirit, drugs history and ability to involve in criminal activities, he said.
Arjun Sherpa, a boy with reddish hair and tattoo in his hand, said he used to earn at least Rs 1, 000 carrying woods and straws in the ghat, however, he cannot earn that much after the electric cremation started in Pashupati.
A 13-year-old boy named Sandip KC took me to Gangamai temple (a temple carved in a shape of meru shri yantra) where worshippers throw coins in the roof of the temple from the Pashupatinath temple premises above the ghat. The worshippers’ belief is that if the coin they throw stays perched on the Gajurs, their wishes will come true.
There were at least five to seven kids waiting for a drop of coin. “We have been collecting coins here for whole day,” said Sandip, adding that the Gangamai pujari will give him Rs 1, 500 for collecting coins on a monthly basis.
Gangamai Pujari Badri told me that he has been helping those kids. “How can I deny them to collect coins as they need money for their survival?” Badri asked. These kids usually entered the Bagmati river in search of gold during night. “One of our friends will stay outside to watch cops and the staffs of Pashupati Area Development Trust. Then we will enter inside river in search of gold just below the cremation ground,” they said.

“We have to smoke marijuana, sniff dendrite anyhow and we are happy here,” said Khadka, adding that he has living with his friends anywhere his friend prefer in the temple premises.
“Why don’t you like to stay in child care shelters?” I asked him. He replied they cannot be adjusted in those shelters. The teachers beat us brutally and we don’t like that environment,” he added.
“What will they do even they took us to their children homes?, We have been in several child care homes many times as per their need but at last we will be here or in the street. At least we can earn some money for our survival here,” said 15-year-old Rajesh Tarki of Godavari. Rajesh said he also has been washing dishes in local hotels for survival.
According to Aghori Baba, some kids are also involved in pick pocketing at temple or any where inside the city. “They catch public vehicles and stole anything they get. They are doing this for their hungry stomach and don’t even know that’s a crime,”
“These children lack human dignity and they do not have self respect. They will also have already eroded social norms and values so are found using foul words, sniffing dendrite openly,” said psychiatrist Sharma.
Secretary of Orphan Service Centre in Tilganga, a social organisation working in children welfare, Prazwol Adhikari informed that those kids have a habit of living in free environment. “They have the developed mentality to get rid of restrictive environment,” said Adhikari.
Another Schooling In charge Surya Prakash Shrestha of Chabahil Pashupati Children Shelter (CPCS), a NGO that worked for the betterment of street children informed that they are trying to change the habit of those kids. They cannot be changed at a time because they cannot adopt the environment easily, he said.

It is very common to find Him spending 8-10 hours at a stretch, associating with the Scriptures. Sri Gurudeva remains in His room for days and days, sometimes for months at a stretch, without meeting anyone. Just sitting at one place for such a long duration is next to impossible for any ordinary person, while composed at one place. It really requires a very high level of purity to practice this.
In mid 1990s, Sri Gurudeva got associated with a renowned spiritual society based on spreading Krishna Consciousness. SriGurudeva, from delivering Lectures to personally talking on one to one basis, from giving after-Lecture Counselling (s) to regularly following them up, did anything and everything while selflessly rendering this humble service of making people, devotees. And thus the temple became one of the most active preaching centers of Vedic Education and Culture, in whole world, taking care of thousands of devotees connected to the temple.
The milestones in the Temple History – formation of Congregation Groups, boys’ group, girls’ group – were laid down by SriGurudeva’s strenuous Efforts. Thus, mere a Temple building (where no one used to come) became an eminent platform for the spiritual development ofdevotees – girls, boys, married couples and everyone could grow there individually and flourish together as a family.
But as the saying goes- “Whatever happens, happens by the Divine Will of The Lord”, the time had come for a Renaissance. Certain facts of the institution were revealed, which were being practiced without any scriptural basis. Moreover, it did not commensurate to fulfil for what SrimanGaurangaMahaprabhu had especially descended, to bestow to all the people of this Kaliyuga. SriGurudeva remained undeterred and principled for the path of pure devotion as He, along with other few devotees left the institution , the opulence , lavish culture , only and only to attain The Highest- The ManjariBhava.
SriGurudeva associated with Sri SriAnanta DasaBabaji Maharaja’s Granthas (Babaji is widely recognized as the foremost teacher of GaudiyaVaisnava Tradition)- for about a year, even before He got His Darsana. Finally, on AksayaTrtya of 2009 Sri Gurudeva took initiation from Him at Sri Radhakunda.
This marked for a new beginning, the Beginning of the Era which would change the entire humanity forever. That would submerge and drench the humanity/mankind, into the Ocean of Selfless Reciprocated Love.
The True Acharya–
Sri Gurudeva’s uncompromising Approach to the Principles of Devotion, Purity and extraordinary Saintly qualities were exemplified as SriGurudeva remained composed and unflinching for The Truth even in the face of adverse circumstances.
Sri Gurudeva is the true GaudiyaAcharya. He is the 17th Guru, in an unbroken bonafidelineage, belonging to Lord Nityananda, Ma JahnavaParivara, which is coming directly from SrimanGaurangaMahaprabhu, and is carrying on the rich traditions of the previous Acharyas in worshipping Sri SriRadha-Madhava in the mood of a manjari, the dearmost friend and servant of SrimatiRadharani. SriGurudeva is passing on the same to the next generation of disciples, thus bestowing upon them the greatest boon which SrimanMahaprabhu Himself came to give to the fallen jivas of this very special Kaliyuga. This particular type of mood/bhava of worship is called manjaribhava, and is the highest relishment to which ajiva can ever ascend to, in both the spiritual as well as the material world… there is NOTHING higher than this(Bhava).
The True Disciple –
SriGurudeva is the living example of SrilaVisvanathaCakravartipada’s, (a leading Acharya) saying- “Spiritual Master’s Instruction should be my life and soul.” After Initiation, SriGurudeva had thought of living a life of solitude and settling down in Sri Radhakunda for bhajana. But His Guru Nistha, a single Instruction of His Spiritual Master, Sri Sri Ananta DasaBabaji Maharaja, brought 360 degrees change in SriGurudeva’s Life.
In 2009 itself, on the TirobhavaUtsava, the Disappearance Day of His ParamaGurudeva, Sri SriKunja Bihari DasaBabaji Maharaja, (the Spiritual Master of Sri Sri Ananta DasaBabaji Maharaja), Sri Sri Ananta DasaBabaji Maharaja Instructed Him in an assembly of devotees- “O Shachinandan! Distribute my Granthas all over, even after my departure.”
Without even any mental ‘if’ or ‘but’, SriGurudeva humbly agreed. He dropped His own inner desire to lead a life of solitude and started making preparations to fulfil the desire of His Gurudeva. Then, His Gurudeva Instructed Him for Temple construction in Delhi, about the Deities, guided about location of Temple etc.
Fulfilling His Guruji’s Desire, “jiva- kalyana hetu” (for the welfare of all jivas), SriGurudeva laid down the foundation of first KARM Mandira in New Delhi, capital of India with the Blessings of His Spiritual Master, Sri Sri Ananta DasaBabaji Maharaja. KARM is actually an offering of a True Disciple unto the LotusFeet of His Spiritual Master. Sri Gurudeva is also writing Granthas for all walks of people, so as to realize the dreams of His Spiritual Master turn into reality, at the earliest.
His Wisdom: through Unheard Lectures, Granthas-
It is stated in Mahabharata- “Life is useless without Dharma/Bhagavata.” And to understand The Scripture Bhagvata, one needs Living Bhagvata. In other words, Scriptures cannot be understood without the One who is actually living Scriptural Teachings. SriGurudeva personifies this (Scriptural Teachings). Infact, there is nothing as pure as the Real Knowledge, and SriGurudeva is bestowing it on upon all.
From a long time, with His unalloyed and unflinching faith on Rasa Sastras, “SastriyeSraddha”, Sri Gurudeva, being “sabda brahma and parabrahmanisnat” (insert inverted comma), has been inculcating the same faith in the devotees through numerous unheard Spiritual Discourses. These are not only confined to elaborating on Bhagavad Gita, SrimadBhagavatam slokas, but extend to the teachings of GaudiyaVaisnavism, subtle topics. They unravel the mysteries of the Scriptures like the Vedas, Upanisads, Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavatam, Gaudiya literatures and many others, thus providing Spiritual solutions to all the problems of life and befitting them to be called as ANANDA SUTRAS. SriGurudeva’sUnparalleled and Unprecedented ANANDA SUTRAS are straight forward and uncompromising in bringing forth the truth and pierces through the layers of contaminated consciousness of various births.
Whosoever hears these Ananda Sutras, though not live and even from far a distance cannot help being attracted to the profound wisdom and simplified understanding inherent in them, and desires to hear them again and again. SriGurudeva makes the deepest scriptural truths accessible to everyone in the simplest language, enabling aspiring sadhaka to blossom spiritually very quickly. SriGurudeva is divine in every aspect. His words are just not mere words. It is SriGurudeva’s self-realized knowledge. They are mercy-laden and full of mercy.
His Ecstatic Kirtana carries Love for The Lord. It directly touches the heart arousing from deep within the pure consciousness of The Lord and servitude to Him.
As it is well known that it is difficult…rather impossible for a Ph. D qualified person to teach ABC to a nursery student…but for the really Compassionate and Affectionate “su-snigdhamehtar” like SriGurudeva, it is very natural to revive the natural consciousness of eternally krishna-bahirmukhajiva by infusing the stream of selfless loving service into the devotees under His shelter. This humble service of SriGurudeva has not been confined to a particular section of people but He has been nurturing all- brahmacaris and sannyasis, girls and boys, married and unmarried- everyone by enriching them with the Essence of Scriptures, clarifying all their doubts, guiding them individually and constantly inspiring/ encouraging them, SriGurudeva is thereby uplifting them spiritually. It has not only been the Knowledge enriched with profound wisdom and enlightenment, but the Selflessness and the Purity of SriGurudeva which always attracts one and all!
Very soon the Supremely Pure, the Real Knowledge will be delivered by SriGurudeva through the Books, thereby enlightening the humanity and uprooting their darkness of ignorance forever!!
His Vision: Selfless Loving Culture-
In the present age of Kaliyuga ‘The age of quarrels’, it is next to impossible to find people from different walks of life, of different ages and having no blood relation being happily unified under one shelter. But through KARM, SriGurudeva has turned this into a reality by establishing a culture of selflessness built on a steady foundation of bonafide Scriptural Injunctions.
Bhakti is generally considered to be full of austerities, penances and sacrifices. But under SriGurudeva’s Divine Shelter, it becomes so spontaneous and effortless.
SriGurudeva is not only bestowing Spiritual Teachings but also giving the Environment for everyone to learn, the platform to practice and the much needed aspiration to grow. Many devotees from different parts of the world have also taken Shelter. Birthdays, Anniversaries find new meanings. They are taken up as the opportunities to develop deep loving relationships through serving devotees.
SrilaRupaGoswami’s Teachings are preached in many spiritual societies, but is practiced to the highest limit on planet earth in KARM as foremost priority by all devotees.
These teachings are given to all those who are Rupanugas (in allegiance of Sri RupaGoswami) but its real essence gets revealed only to the devotees who receive the benediction of SriGurudeva Association.
Through SriGurudeva’s own conduct, one can learn how to remain immersed in the flavours of devotional service following these six priti laksana, guhyam akhyatipacchati in particular, and thus to remain in the realm of ecstasy day and night, relishing Lord’s sweetness. Exchange of gifts, serving and accepting Prasada is a tradition of KARM Devotees.
His Directive: ‘Love all, Respect all, Serve all’-
SriGurudeva believes in loving all, respecting all and serving all living entities. Whoever gets the opportunity to have Sri Gurudeva’sDarsana even once, can feel His charismatic effulgence and magnetic attraction. It is said- ‘The highest expression of happiness is love, and the highest expression of love is to take living entities closer to The Lord’. Through KARM, SriGurudeva is not only bringing everyone closer to The Lord, but also enabling all to enter into the innermost chamber ( Nivrita-Nikunja) of The Lord as a dear manjari, in this life only!

NEW YORK; Over five hundred followers of Shiv Yog gathered at the “Yes We Can Community Center” Westbury Long Island on June 18 to participate in a five-day intense spiritual discourse by Acharya Ishan Shivanand, younger son and disciple of Avdhoot Baba Shivanand on the occasion of Baba Sivananda Day in North Hempstead.
Acharya Ishan Shivanand Ji demonstrated with clarity transition from humor to profound philosophical expressions and the opening session indicated a promising spiritual and joyful ride of five days for participants in this intense prati prasav,
Baba Shivanand revolutionized healing and presented the science of healing to the world combining modern medicine and ancient Vedic wisdom demonstrating that cure is possible.
Hon. Anna Kaplan, Council woman from North Hempstead presented the proclamation to Acharya Ishanji with the declaration of ‘18th June’ 2016 in the name of ‘Avdhoot Baba Shivanandji’. She said Baba Shivananda is known to have revolutionized the healing process by combining modern medicine with ancient wisdom.
In his brief remarks after presenting a proclamation from Nassau County Comptroller Hon. George Maragos appreciated the contribution of Acharya Ishan Shivanand in empowering youth with leadership qualities. Deputy Comptroller James Garner conveyed his appreciation for the positive teaching of Shiv Yog.

KATHMANDU: Body of an unidentified person was found in course of the weekly Bagmati Clean-up Campaign. In course of the cleaning on the 163rd week today, the body of a man who appeared to be in his mid-30s was found inside a sack near Thapathali Kupandol area of the Bagmati river bank, according to Executive Director of the High-powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee Rajesh Prasad Singh. Meanwhile, seven metric ton solid waste was collected from the river during the clean-up today.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel, the Committee members, staff of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and members of the general public took part in the cleaning of the sacred river and its banks today.

एक स्थानीयले भने, ‘सडक विस्तारको क्रममा कुनाकुनामा बसेर इन्जिनियरले अनुगमन गरेकाले सडक तत्काल भत्किएको छ।’ स्थानीयबासीले सडक निर्माणमा मापदण्ड विपरित निर्माण सामाग्री प्रयोग गरेको, पारदर्शी अनुगमन नभएको, पानी परेकै समयमा पिच गरेको, उचित ढंगले ढल व्यवस्थापन नगरेको लगायत गुनासो गरेका छन्।

८ असार, काठमाडौं – वैदेशिक रोजगारीका लागि अफगानिस्तान पुगेका १२ नेपाली तालिबानको आक्रमणमा मारिएको तीनदिनपछि उनीहरुको शब बाकसमा हालेर स्वदेश ल्याइएको हो । १२ नेपालीको शव बुधबार अपराहृन काठमाडौं विमानस्थलमा ल्याइपुर्‍याउँदा सिंगै देश भावहि्वल बन्यो । क्यानेडियन दूताबासमा सुरक्षागार्डका रुपमा कार्यरत उनीहरु ड्युटीमा जाने क्रममा आतंकवादी आक्रमणमा परेका थिए । घटनामा मारिएकाहरुको शव नेपाल सरकारले चार्टर विमान पठाएर नेपाल ल्याएको हो ।

७ असार, दिपक न्यौपाने, काठमाडौ – व्यक्ति तथा सामुहिक हत्या, बलात्कार जस्ता जघन्य अपराधमा पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्रीदेखि पूर्वराजा ज्ञानेन्द्र समेतको संलग्नता दाबी गर्दै सत्य निरुपण तथा मेलमिलाप आयोगमा उजूरी परिरहेका छन् । एकअर्कालाई कारवाहीको माग गर्दै आयोगमा गत शुक्रबारसम्म ४० हजार उजुरी परेका छन् । योगमा परेका उजुरीमा आरोप लगाइएका व्यक्तिहरुमा पूर्वराजा ज्ञानेन्द्रदेखि प्रधानमन्त्री केपी शर्मा ओली, पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्रीहरु शेरबहादुर थापा, लोकेन्द्रबहादुर चन्द, सूर्यबहादुर थापा, पुष्पकमल दाहाल प्रचण्डसमेत छन् । सत्य निरुपण आयोगमा अहिले नै ४० हजार उजुरी परिसकेका छन् । थप गरिएको समयसम्म करिब ६० हजार उजुरी पुग्ने अनुमान गरिएको छ । आयोगको समयावधि २ वर्ष मात्रै छ । यस विषयमा स्रोत भन्छ, ‘सबै उजुरीमा कारवाही नै गर्ने हो भने समाजमा नयाँ तरिकाले द्वन्द्व उठ्छ, त्यसमा विवाद नै छैन । साथै आयोग पनि अर्को द्वन्द्वको कारक बन्नु हुँदैन ।’
तर, के यी उजुरीमाथि कारवाही होला ? पीडितले पनि उजुरी दिने तर सत्यतथ्य जुटाउन सक्दैन भने कारवाही अगाडि बढ्न सक्दैन । सत्यतथ्य नभई न्याय पाइँदैन भन्ने पनि पीडितले बुझ्नुपर्छ । ‘जस्तो बाँदरमुडेमा एउटा बस जान्छ, त्यसमा यति मान्छे चढेको हुन्छ, यसरी बमले उडाउने भनेर स्पष्ट निर्देशन दिएको छ भने त प्रचण्डलगायत नेता कारवाहीको भागिदार बन्नैपर्छ, यो प्रश्न यतिबेला बहसको विषय बनेको छ ।

कुन गल्तीमा कस्लाई के होला ?

– गाउँमा बलात्कार भएको छ भने…
– बाँदरमुढे घटनामा प्रचण्डलाई के हुन्छ ?
– चेपाङ्गको हत्यामा देउवाको संलग्नता !
– दोरम्बा काण्डमा के हुन्छ ?
– मरेका विरुद्ध पनि उजूरी ?
– गलत मान्छे विरुद्ध उजुरी छ भने के गर्ने ?
– भिडन्तमा मारिएकाको छानविन हुँदैन
– भाग्दै गरेकालाई मारिएको छ भने नि ?
यि दोषीलाई राज्यले कारबाही गर्ने के योजना बनाउदै छ ?
