Famous for mountain gorilla and spectacular mountain scenery, Rwanda is set to host the annual Africa Travel Association (ATA) Congress to be taking place in Rwanda’s sprawling city of Kigali November this year.

Bearing a theme of “Destination Africa: The Future of African Tourism”, the the ATA’s 41st Congress will be held in Kigali from November 14 to 17, bringing delegates from Africa, United States, Europe and other parts of the world.

To be taking place in East Africa for three consecutive years, the ATA 41st Congress is set to focus the East African region as the single tourist destination in Africa and best for combined African safari.

ATA 39th Congress was held in Kampala, Uganda in November 2014 and the ATA 40th Congress held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi in November last year.
The East African states are well connected by air, making it easy for international travelers to fly between each of the five capital cities easily in less than three hours’ time. Kenya Airways stands the leading air carrier and the linking airline to all five member states of the East African Community.

Delegates and other ATA Congress participants from United States and other countries outside Africa will travel and connect to Kigali easily from Kenya and Uganda with no visa requirement, but with only a single visa issued by one among the three member states.

To increase competitiveness, the East African Community (EAC), launched a single visa called the EAC visa in 2014, engaging Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
It will be the first time for Rwanda to host the ATA Congress and where the delegates will get a unique chance to observe Rwanda’s hospitality with a visit to a selected tourist hotspot in this fast growing African safari destination.

Rwanda becomes the Fourth East African nation to host the ATA’s 41st Annual Congress to make the East African region the leading bloc to host Africa’s tourism marketing and promotion forum aimed to expose the continent’s rich tourism and cultural heritage before the world’s tourist source markets.

Reports from the Congress organizers, the Africa Travel Association and Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), said arrangements for the Congress in Kigali were in a positive progress with participation registration open to interested participants.
The East African Community visa allows tourists to purchase a visa at the border, and then enter the other two countries on the same visa, for US$100 in total, for a maximum 90 days. It is only applied in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

Boastful with tourist attractions, the East African region is best known by its rich wildlife resources and which is the milestone of tourism development in this part of the African continent.

From the Indian Ocean beaches of Zanzibar and Malindi, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti and Maasai Mara wildlife ecosystem, mountain gorillas in Bwindi and Akagera national parks and the beautiful scenery of the mountains in Rwanda, visitors to East Africa could make a complete itinerary through the regional tour package.

Among key personalities in the list of the ATA’s 41st Annual Congress in Rwanda is the Zimbabwean Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, also the chairperson of the Commission for Africa, under the UN World Tourism Organization Dr. Walter Mzembi.

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Solar Impulse 2 (Si2) took off early this morning from Kennedy Airport, New York, to attempt the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean and prove that an efficient energy future is possible. Si2, the solar airplane of Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, capable of flying day and night with no fuel, is expected to land at the Seville Airport in Spain on 23 June. The flight, that should take four days and four nights non-stop depending on weather conditions, is one of the most challenging legs of the Round-The-World Solar Flight, the goal of which is to show that the world can be run on clean technologies.

Louis solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean are striking, but while Lindbergh’s achievement sparked people’s interest in aviation, Solar Impulse aims to inspire adoption of clean technologies as way to improve the quality of life on Earth.

“André and the team have created more than a revolutionary airplane; they materialized my vision for the future of energy,” said Bertrand Piccard, Initiator and Chairman of Solar Impulse, currently at the controls of Si2. “Lindbergh’s transatlantic flight marked a new area in aviation and contributed to the progress of air transport on a large scale. With Solar Impulse, our aim is to encourage the deployment of clean technologies everywhere. If an airplane can fly day and night without fuel, everybody could use these same efficient solutions in their daily lives.”
Last year, André Borschberg landed Si2 in Hawaii after a record breaking flight of five days and nights over the Pacific Ocean, thereby proving that Solar Impulse can fly perpetually. Today, Bertrand Piccard is taking the mission one step further. For years, transatlantic flights have been the testing ground for airplanes, gliders, balloons, steamboats and even windsurfs – a rite of passage confirming their maturity and usability. However, Solar Impulse is not only a means of transportation; it is an entire vision for the future of energy that is being proven over the Atlantic Ocean. More than an aviation first, this flight is a first in the history of renewable energy.

“Action need not wait. As we see before us, innovation and experimentation will help us move into a sustainable future. The science used in this flight can also be put to use here on the ground. The plane’s technologies can help halve the world’s energy consumption, save natural resources and improve our quality of life,” said UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon during his visit to the project.

It’s not a question of technology anymore, it’s only a question of mindset: Solar Impulse is like a flying smart grid, and if we can make it work in an airplane, where we can’t cheat, we can make it work on the ground, in our cities, for our homes and for all applications,” commented André Borschberg, CEO, Co-Founder and Pilot of Solar Impulse.

After landing in Europe, the mission will continue onward to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where the adventure started in March 2015. By flying around the globe propelled solely by the energy of the sun, Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are making history with clean technologies. Through innovation and pioneering spirit, their adventure proves that change is possible and that there is good reason to hope for a clean energy future. असार ५, २०७३- इन्जिनियरले पक्षपात गरेर सक्कली पीडितको नामावली छुटाएको उनीहरूको गुनासो थियो । स्थानीय स्वास्थ्यकर्मीमार्फत घूस मागेको उजुरीबारे छानबिन नै भएन । हरेक गाविसबाट अनुदान लिनबाट वास्तविक पीडित वञ्चित भएको गुनासो दिनानुदिन बढ्दो छ । पुनर्निर्माण चाँडो सुरु गर्न जिल्लाभर नै अनुदान सम्झौता टोलीसँगै पीडितको गुनासो संकलन गर्ने टोली परिचालन गरियो । सचिवमार्फत वितरण गरिएको रातो कार्ड नक्कली पीडितले पनि पाएको बताउँदै निजी घर क्षतिको लगत संकलन गर्न गैरसरकारी संस्थाका इन्जिनियर परिचालन गरिएको थियो । उनीहरूले संकलन गरेको तथ्यांकमा पनि प्रशस्तै त्रुटि भेटिएको पीडितको गुनासो छ । इन्जिनियरहरूले जिल्लाभर ५८ हजार दुई सय ५० निजी घरको अनुदान पाउन योग्य भनेर सूची तयार पारेका थिए । केराबारी गाविसका बासिन्दाले पनि अधिकांश पीडितको नामावली छुटेको जिविसमा जानकारी गराए । केन्द्रविन्दु बारपाकमै पीडित छुटेको भन्दै निवेदन परेको छ ।
रातो कार्ड नक्कली पीडितले पनि पाएको तथ्य भेटिएपछि छानविन समिति गठन गरिएको थियो । समितिले काम नसक्दै इन्जिनियर टोली खटाएर तथ्यांक संकलन गर्दा झनै भद्रगोल भएको हो ।
ताप्ले गाविसका पीडित गुनासो दर्ता गरेर मात्रै अनुदान सम्झौता गर्न तयार भएनन् । उनीहरूले शुक्रबार गाविसको कार्यालयमा तालाबन्दी नै गरे । लाभग्राही सूचीमा नाम छुटेका पीडितले तालाबन्दी गरेको गाविसका सचिव घनश्याम ढकालले बताए । त्यहाँका बासिन्दाले पहिले गुनासोको छानबिन हुनुपर्ने माग राखेका हुन् । नक्कली पीडितले लाभग्राही सूचीमा नामावली भएको तर सक्कली पीडित छुटेकाका कारण गाविसमा काम गर्न गाह्रो भएको अधिकांश सचिवको भनाइ छ ।

अमेरिका – अमेरिकाको दक्षिणी राज्य टेक्ससको ड्यालसबाट ‘कालोपोथी’ औपचारिक रूपमा अमेरिकामा हलहरुमा प्रदर्शनका लागि प्रवेश गरेको हो। ड्यालसको दुईवटा हलहरुमा शुक्रवार यो फिल्म प्रदर्शन भए। अमेरिकामा नेपाली चलचित्र ‘कालोपोथी’ को प्रदर्शनी सुरु भएको छ।

घरमा पालेको सेतोपोथीलाई बाउले बेचिदिएपछि त्यसलाई पुनः पाउनका लागि बालकले गर्नुपरेको कष्ट र माओवादी द्वन्द्वले निम्त्याएको पारिवारिक विघटन, विस्थापनलाई पनि कालोपोथीले बाहिर ल्याइदिएको छ । ‘समग्रमा कालोपोथीलाई कर्णालीको नेपाली समाजको चित्रण गर्ने फिल्मका रूपमा मैले लिएँ,’ फिल्म हेर्न हलमा पुगेका युलेसका दीपकराज पोखरेलले प्रतिकृया दिए । केही नेपालीहरूले भने फिल्मलाई प्रेम र बिछोडमा आधारित सम्झेर हलमा गएकोमा त्यस अनुसार नपाएको प्रतिकृया दिए । तर अधिकांश नेपाली दर्शकहरूले भने हलिउड थियटरमा नेपाली फिल्म लागेर हेर्न पाउनुनै गर्वको विषय भएको बताएका छन् ।

जहाँ ग्यास देखिएको हो, त्यो निकै उचाइमा भएका कारण यस्तो अनुमान गरिएको हो । अब ड्रिल गरेर ग्यासको स्रोत कति तल छ भन्ने हेरेपछि मात्रै उत्खननको काम शुरु हुन्छ ।
