KATHMANDU: 376 world climbers including 20 Nepalis representing five teams obtained climbing permits for Mt Everest while a nine-member team comprising five South Koreans will be applying in a day or two becoming the last to seek permit for the world’s highest peak in the season.  With the world mountaineers traversing through the treacherous Khumbu icefall on Mt Everest, Nepal’s Department of Tourism today said it had issued climbing permits to at least 729 mountaineers who would be attempting to climb 21 different mountains in the spring season. “At least 53 female climbers, three of them as team leader, have headed to Mt Everest,” he shared. DoT record shows that there were only 289 foreign climbers who had obtained climbing permits for Mt Everest in the last spring season. After traversing through the icefall section, Jim Davidson, a Colorado-based seasoned mountaineer,  The ministry has allowed for all of the fixing gear including ropes, pitons, screws and biners to be flown by chopper up to Camp II. At least 16 loads have already been airlifted to Camp II while such move certainly eliminates lots of dangerous load carries through the icefall by Sherpas, he added. Along with Mt Everest, at least 100 climbers for Mt Lhotse and 30 for Mt Nuptse will also be using the icefall route.

The only Bangladeshi climber of the season Amatun Noor, 21, is the youngest female to obtain Everest climbing permit while 31-year old Giselle Carolina Cesin Ramirez would want to become the first Venezuelan female to be on the roof of the world. Oldest foreign climbers in male and female categories – Japanese Hiromi Wada, 70, and Joy Christine Deerness, 68, from New Zealand — have also headed for Mt Everest this season.

१३ चैत, काठमाडौं : हिमाल आरोहणको मौसम सुरु भएसँगै दर्जनभन्दा बढी आरोहणदल सगरमाथा चढ्ने पर्खाइमा छन् । फागुन २१ देखि आठजना आइसफल डाक्टरले बाटो निर्माण सुरु गरे पनि अप्ठ्यारो भएकाले समय लाग्ने भएको सगरमाथा प्रदूषण नियन्त्रण समिति (एसपीसीसी) का कार्यकारी निर्देशकले बताए । यसपटकको वसन्त ऋतुमा सगरमाथा शिखर आरोहण गर्ने पर्वतारोहीका लागि आरोहणको याम सुरु भइसके पनि सगरमाथा शिखरतर्फको बाटो खुल्न अझै दुई साता लाग्ने भएको छ ।  आइसफल डाक्टरले बाटो मर्मत गरिनसकुन्जेल जोखिम हुने भएकाले आरोहणदल सगरमाथा आरोहणमा जाँदैनन् । भूकम्प र हिमपहिरोपछि बाटो व्यवस्थित र नयाँ बाटो निर्माण गर्न लागिएकाले सहज भए मात्र दुई साता लाग्ने र असहज भए अझै बढी समय लाग्नसक्ने आइसफल डाक्टरका संयोजक आङकामी शेर्पाले बताए । सन् २०१४ मा लोलाबाट हिमपहिरो आएपछि २०१५ देखि बाटो परिवर्तन गरी नुप्त्से लोला हुँदै नयाँ बाटो प्रयोग गर्न थालिएको जानकारी शेर्पाले दिए । सपीसीसीका अनुसार आधारशिविर (५,३३४ मिटर) देखि निर्माण सुरु गरिए पनि २१ दिनमा आधारशिविर र क्याम्प एकसम्म मात्र बाटो निर्माण भएको छ ।  स्रोत:  अन्नपूर्ण पोस्ट् दैनिक

KATHMANDU: Private school operators have demanded action against those who planted bombs in schools in the Kathmandu Valley so as to prevent disruption in academic activities.  He charged that the Ministry of Education has kept mum over the incidents, saying it was saddening.  The chairpersons of all three organisations of private schools — HISSAN, PABSON and NPABSON —  warned of agitation if the authorities failed to book the perpetrators. Earlier, they visited the schools were improvised explosive devices were planted.

Ramesh Silwal Said ,  chairperson of the Higher Secondary School Association in Nepal (HISSAN), reminded all that schools are a zone of peace, and asked the stakeholders to put a stop to inhumane acts, extortion and politics in the education sector.

काठमाडौँ-  वायुसेवा निगमले दुई वटा एयर बस किन्न कर्मचारी संचय कोषबाट लिएको ऋणको सावाँ र व्याजबापतको यो रकम नियमले चुक्ता गरेको  छ। राष्ट्रिय ध्वजाबाहक नेपाल वायुसेवा निगमले डेढ वर्ष अगाडि भित्र्याएको एयर बस नामका दुईवटा जहाज खरिदबापत डेढ अर्ब रुपैयाँ ऋण चुक्ता गरको हो।  निगमले दुईवटा एयरवसको १५६ सीट क्षमताका ए ३२०-२०० सिरिजका जहाज खरिद गर्न कर्मचारी संचय कोषबाट लिएको १० अर्ब ऋण मध्ये डेढ वर्षभित्रमै एक अर्ब ५८ करोड ६२ लाख १७ हजार रुपैयाँ बुझाएको निगमका कर्पोरेट निर्देशकले बताए। वायुसेवा निगमले चार वर्षपछि संयुक्त अरब इमिरेट्स (युएई)को दुवाई उडान गर्ने भएको छ। निगमले २०६९ साउनदेखि बन्द गरेको दुवाईको उडान आगामी भदौ २ गतेबाट पुनः सुचारु गर्ने भएको छ।  निगमले जहाज ल्याएर उडान गर्न थालेपिछ पहिलो तीन महिना अर्थात् २०७२ को असारमा २९ करोड १८ लाख रुपैयाँको पहिलो किस्ता तिरेको थियो। त्यसपछि भने हरके महिना तिर्ने शुल्क ३२ करोड ३६ लाख रहेको छ।

KATHMANDU: Body of an unidentified person was found in course of the weekly Bagmati Clean-up Campaign. In course of the cleaning on the 163rd week today, the body of a man who appeared to be in his mid-30s was found inside a sack near Thapathali Kupandol area of the Bagmati river bank, according to Executive Director of the High-powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee Rajesh Prasad Singh. Meanwhile, seven metric ton solid waste was collected from the river during the clean-up today.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force personnel, the Committee members, staff of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and members of the general public took part in the cleaning of the sacred river and its banks today.

३ असार, काठमाडौं – प्रधानमन्त्री केपी शर्मा ओलीले दुई वर्षभित्र ग्यास उत्खनन् गरिसक्ने बताएसँगै सरकारले पेट्रोल उत्खननलाई प्राथमिकतामा राखेको छ । नेपालमा ग्यास र पेट्रोलको उत्खननका लागि चिनियाँ सरकारको सहयोगमा अध्ययन सुरु भएको छ । चिनियाँ टोलीले दैलेख लगायतका केही स्थानमा पुुगेर नमूना संकलन गरिसकेको छ ।  दैलेखबाट प्रारम्भिक अनुसन्धानको काम भइरहेको छ । दैलेखमा ३ सय वर्ष पुरानो ज्वाला देखिन्छ । अस्ति मैले पनि त्यहाँ ग्यास निभाएर फेरि आगो बालेर हेरेँ । त्यस क्षेत्रमा धेरै ग्यास लिकेज भइरहेको छ । त्यहाँका खोलामा पानीका फोका देखिने गरेको छ, त्यो पनि ग्यास बाहिरिएको हो । पहिलो चरणमा ६ जना विज्ञहरु आएका छन् । उनीहरुले दैलेखमा एक महिनासम्म अध्ययन अनुसन्धान गरी त्यहाँका चट्टानहरु चाइनाको प्रयोगशालामा लगेर अध्ययन गरिरहेका छन् । उनीहरु केही समयमै नेपाल फर्किन्छन् । सबैतिरको चट्टान समेटिएको छ । ड्रील गरेर पनि निकालिएको थियो, बाहिरका पनि थिए । उनीहरुले दैलेखमा ग्यासको अतिरिक्त पेट्रोलको पनि ठूलो सम्भावना देखियो भनेर गएका छन् ।

जहाँ ग्यास देखिएको हो, त्यो निकै उचाइमा भएका कारण यस्तो अनुमान गरिएको हो । अब ड्रिल गरेर ग्यासको स्रोत कति तल छ भन्ने हेरेपछि मात्रै उत्खननको काम शुरु हुन्छ ।
