काठमाडौं। मोटरसाइकलसँगै अब निजी गाडी पनि राइड सेयरिङ गर्न सकिने गरी ‘साथी’ले आफ्नो सेवा सुरु गरेको छ। निजी गाडीलाई पनि राइड सेयरिङ प्लाटफर्ममा भित्र्याउने तयारी भइरहेको छ। अहिले सञ्चालन भइरहेको राइड सेयरिङ सेवाहरुमा नअटेको नयाँ सेवासहित साथीले अनौपचारिक रूपमा सेवा सुरु गरेको हो। मोटरसाइकलपछि भने उक्त कम्पनीले आफ्नो मोबाइल एप्लिकेसनमा निजी गाडीको फिचर राखिसकेको भए पनि कार्यान्वयनमा भने केही समय लाग्ने बताइएको छ।

इतिहासमै पहिलो पटक नेपाली युवा इन्जिनियरिङका विद्यार्थीहरुको समूहले बनाएको रकेट परीक्षण भएको छ । शनिबार नेपालको पहिलो रकेट गरुडको सिन्धुलीको भिमानमा प्रक्षेपण परीक्षण गरिएको हो । रकेट करिब डेढ सय मिटर आकाशमा उडेको थियो । त्यसपछि हावाका कारण रकेट दुर्घटना हुन पुगेको थियो । यो रकेट १० हजार फिट एलजीएलको उचाइमा पुग्ने अनुमान गरिएको थियो ।  प्रक्षेपण परीक्षण समारोहमा प्रधान सेनापति पूर्णचन्द्र थापा उपस्थित भएका थिए । स्पेसपोर्ट अमेरिकामा आयोजना हुने रकेट इन्जिनियरिङ प्रतिस्पर्धा ‘स्पेसपोर्ट अमेरिका कप–२०२१’ मा नेपाली रकेट ‘गरुड’ पनि छनौटमा परेको छ ।  ७.४२ फिट उचाइ रहेको गरुडाको व्यास ६ इन्चको छ ।

काठमाडौं, ५ फागुन : जनता समाजवादी पार्टी(जसपा) का अध्यक्ष उपेन्द्र यादवले सत्तारुढ दल नेकपा एमाले अध्यक्ष एवं प्रधानमन्त्री केपी शर्मा ओलीलाई ‘प्रतिगमनकारी’को संज्ञा दिँदै प्रतिगमनकारी ओलीसंग सत्ता साझेदारीको के अर्थ  बताउनुभएको छ । बैठक स्थगित भएपछि सञ्चारकर्मीसँग कुरा गर्दै अध्यक्ष यादवले ‘प्रतिगमनकारी ओली’सँग सहकार्य गर्नै नसकिने बताउनुभएको हो ।  प्रधानमन्त्री ओलीसँग सहकार्य गरेर जाँदा मधेश आन्दोलनलाई धोका हुने यादवले बताउनुभएको छ । उहाँका अनुसार जसपाले ओलीसँग सहयर्का गर्नु भनेको लोकतन्त्रलाई धरापमा पारेर संघीयतलाई खारेज गर्न बल दिनु हो ।

काठमाडौं : गत माघदेखि बढी ब्याज प्रदान गर्दै आएको एनएमबिले अब ग्राहकहरुलाई ‌एक सय २५ दिने मुद्धतीमा वार्षिक ७.२५% सम्म ब्याजदर (०.५% प्रिमियमसहित) दिने जनाएको छ।  तर हाल बैंकहरुमा निक्षेप थुप्रिनुका साथै साना निक्षेपकर्तालाई बचतमा न्यून ब्याज पाएर लगानीको प्रतिफल सन्तोषजनक नरहेको अवस्थामा एनएमबि बैंकले नयाँ योजना सार्वजनिक गरेको हाे । बैंकहरु कर्जा सापटीमा केन्द्रित भएको देखिएपनि एनएमबिले भने साना निक्षेपकर्ताहरुलाई बचत गर्न प्रोत्साहन गर्नेगरी निक्षेपमा आकर्षक योजना ल्याएको बैंकले जनाएको छ। अरु बैककाे तुलनामा एनएमबि बैकले कम ब्याजदर िदएकाेले मुद्धती रकम अरु बैकमा सन्तोषजनक पाइएकाेले देशभरी रहेका शाखाहरुबाट अरु बैकमा रकम धमाधम सारीरहेकाे पाइृएकाे छ।

५ चैत, काठमाडौं : भारतस्थित सिरम इन्स्टिच्युट अझ इण्डियाबाट खरिद गरिएको १० लाख मात्रा खोप नआएपछि खोप अभियान स्थगन गरिएको हो । भारत सरकारबाट अनुदानमा १० लाख मात्रा र नेपाल सरकारले आफैं खरिद गरेको १० लाख मात्रा खोप ल्याई लगाइएको छ ।   कोरोना भाइरसविरुद्धको खोप दोस्रो चरणमा १६ लाख ७३ हजार २२७ व्यक्तिले लगाएका छन् । दोस्रो चरणको पहिलो प्राथमिकतामा व्यक्तिमध्ये ७३ प्रतिशतले खोप लगाएका छन् ।

स्वास्थ्य सेवा विभागको बालस्वास्थ्य तथा खोप शाखा प्रमुख डा. झलक शर्मा गौतमले ६५ वर्षभन्दा माथिका १६ लाख ७३ हजार २२७ ज्येष्ठ नागरिकले खोप लगाएको जानकारी दिए । सरकारले गत फागुन २३ गतेदेखि यही चैत ३ गतेसम्म दोस्रो चरणको खोप अभियान सञ्चालन गरेको थियो । दोस्रो चरणको पहिलो प्राथमिकतामा परेका २२ लाख ज्येष्ठ नागरिकलाई खोप प्रदान गर्ने लक्ष्य राखिएको थियो ।  खोप  आगामी वैशाख ७ गतेदेखि ११ गतेसम्म सञ्चालन हुनेछ ।

Released on March 16, the video is now available on the NTA’s website www.nevisisland.com as well as their social media channels. The video invites visitors to come, explore and enjoy a relaxing getaway and connect with the soul and spirit of this special island.

The new #JustBeNevis video will serve as a vehicle to showcase the distinctive aspects of the destination and target the growing health and wellness visitor segment. “As more and more travelers embrace healthy lifestyles and practices, Nevis affords visitors an ideal opportunity to escape from the stresses of everyday life and relax and rejuvenate in a lush, natural environment. This video helps us to position Nevis as the preferred wellness destination for guests seeking vacation experiences that focus on their wellbeing,” said Nevis Tourism Authority CEO Jadine Yarde.  “In addition to our exceptional resort spas, we also have a host of talented wellness consultants — massage therapists, yoga instructors, fitness gurus and nutrition experts, who offer personalized programs and curated experiences for guests.”

The video, which is just over a minute long, invites travelers to Just Be in Nevis, and showcases a number of activities for health-conscious vacationers. Breathe while enjoying beach yoga, Release the tensions and toxins during that body massage and other spa treatments, Transform as you practice your meditation rituals and Embrace those outdoor pursuits, against the backdrops of breathtaking scenery and panoramic views.

Several Nevisian wellness practitioners and locations are featured in the video, including the Nevis Hot Springs, where visitors can enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the thermal waters; the Bac 2 My Roots Spatique, an eco-friendly Wholistic Spa and Juice bar offering a range of traditional healing techniques drawn from Africa and India; and signature massage treatments at the Myra Jones-Edith Kirby Jones Wellness Center.

To complement the #JustBeNevis wellness video, and generate a larger conversation around wellness and well-being, the NTA is inviting guests to share videos of their own best self-care practices, or how they incorporate wellness into their daily routines, on the NTA’s Instagram and Facebook platforms using the hashtag #JustBeNevis.  The most popular videos will receive a gift from Nevis, in appreciation for their support. A comprehensive “Wellness” brochure, with information on both traditional and non-traditional wellness and self-care experiences has been produced, designed to provide visitors with everything they need to know to create their perfect vacation in Nevis. The brochure will be available on the NTA website.

The NTA is also launching a monthly “Escape to Nevis” series this month, which will  air on their YouTube channel, and feature conversations with a variety of interesting and innovative Nevisian personalities speaking to different aspects of the destination. The first episode is focused on wellness, and will star Edith Irby, owner of the Edith Irby Jones Wellness Center, and herbal specialist Sevil Hanley, a leading  authority on the healing properties of locally grown roots and herbs.

Deepak Neupane, Kathmandu : As of March 9, over 268 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide since the start of the pandemic  No cases of death have been found to have been caused by COVID-19 vaccines to date. Vaccination against COVID-19 will not reduce deaths from other causes  The World Health Organization (WHO) today commented on Denmark, Iceland, Italy and Norway suspending the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports of thrombosis among those vaccinated.

According to the world’s health body, over 268 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 globally, and no deaths from the vaccines have been confirmed as of March 9.

“WHO is aware that as a precautionary measure, a few countries in the European Union have suspended use of a specific batch of AstraZeneca vaccine distributed in the EU, based on reports of rare blood coagulation disorders in persons who had received vaccine from that particular batch. This was decided as a precaution whilst a full investigation is finalized,” WHO Spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said.

“It is important to note that the European Medicines Agency’s Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee position is that the vaccine’s benefits continue to outweigh its risks, and the vaccine can continue to be administered while investigation of cases of thromboembolic events is ongoing,” the spokesperson said.

“WHO’s Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS) systematically reviews any vaccine safety signals and concerns related to COVID-19 vaccine safety, and meets every two weeks to advise WHO on any new safety signals or concerns related to COVID-19 vaccines,” he added.

“The GACVS is carefully assessing the current reports on the Astra Zeneca vaccine. As soon as WHO has gained a full understanding of these events, the findings and any changes to current recommendations will be immediately communicated to the public. Vaccination against COVID-19 will not reduce deaths from other causes. Deaths from other causes will continue to occur, including after vaccination, but causally unrelated,” Jasarevic said.

It was reported on Thursday that Denmark and a number of other states had suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports of thrombosis among those vaccinated. Earlier, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended to continue using the vaccine, noting that it has not been proven that these symptoms were caused by vaccination. According to the EMA, as of March 10, there were 30 cases of thromboembolic complications among about 5 mln people who were administered the AstraZeneca vaccine. The agency stressed that this means that the number of reported side effects among those vaccinated does not surpass the number of such cases in the population on the whole.

नेपाल इन्फास्ट्रक्चर बैंक (निफ्रा) ले नागरिक उड्डयन क्षेत्र समेत लगानी गर्ने भएको छ । लगानीका लागि ठाउँ खोजिरहेको निफ्राले यो क्षेत्रमा लगानी गर्ने इच्छा देखाएको हो । यो क्षेत्रमा लगानी गर्नसक्ने ठाउँबारे बैंकले नेपाल नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरणसँग छलफल सुरु गरेको छ ।  नागरिक उड्डयन क्षेत्र अन्तर्गत विभिन्न विमानस्थलको निर्माण एवं सञ्चालन तथा एयरलाइन्स कम्पनीको सञ्चालनमा अहिले लगानी गर्ने सम्भावना छ । तर, विमानस्थल निर्माणमा अहिले नै निजी क्षेत्रले सहभागिता जनाउन पाउँदैन । अहिले देशभरको विमानस्थलको निर्माण र सञ्चालनको अधिकार प्राधिकरणलाई मात्रै छ । अहिले संघीय संसदमा नेपाल नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरण र हवाई सेवा प्राधिकरण स्थापनासम्बन्धी विधेयक विचाराधिन अवस्थामा छ । यो विधेयक पारित भएपछि भने विमानस्थलमा निजी क्षेत्रको सहभागिता खुला हुनेछ । एयरलाइन्स कम्पनीको सञ्चालन गर्न भने अहिले निजी क्षेत्रलाई अहिले पनि खुला नै छ । लगानीका यीनै सम्भावनाबारे छलफल भएको क्यानका प्रवक्ता क्षेत्री बताउँछन् ।
