SINGER URMILA LAMGADAY HAS RELEASED A NEW SONG, “LINA AAUCHU”

New York-based singer Urmila Lamgaday’s new song has been released. Budha Subba Digital has released the video song “Lina Aauchu Bhantheu” through YouTube. After releasing the song Lamgaday said, “Today I am very happy. My wish to release the song has come true. I hope the audience will like it’. The music arranger of the song is Arjun Pokhrel, and the lyricist is Diggaj Dhaurali. This folk/modern style song features popular actress Pooja Sharma and actor Raj Katuwal. Kaviraj Gahatraj directs the song. This song was recorded at Jambox Entertainment Studios in Manhattan, New York, and Om Recording Studio, Jackson Heights. On a singing journey, almost 13 years ago, Urmila Lamgaday had recorded a hymn. It was also released with a music video. After that, none of her songs were recorded. Lamgaday says the time was not right, even though she wanted to continue singing. Although a song based on Nepal’s Rukum incident (where seven Dalits were brutally killed by villagers) was released three months ago, the video was made with the available footage.

She came to the singing journey after 13 years, and now she plans to continue singing. She says – ‘I don’t want to release songs in quantity but, I plan to continue with quality.’ Born in Hetauda Ratomate, she has been interested in an acting career since childhood. She fulfilled her hobby in the Nepali telefilm Dalan. The telefilm against caste discrimination, which was released almost ten years ago. A character named Naina acted as an inter-caste couple within the Dalits in the teleserial. Later, she was featured in a music video also. She also acted in some television commercials. The advertisement made by the Ministry of Health was aired on Nepal Television. She couldn’t continue acting since she came to the United States in 2011. Urmila, a mother of two daughters, says, “Now that the children have also grown up, I can continue my singing career.” Since Urmila lost both her parents at a young age, she could not continue her singing and acting career. She says that she has lagged behind in her singing journey due to various reasons. She lost her father when she was only 5, and at the age of 16, she lost her mother. Urmila added, ‘That is why it was not easy for me to move forward in the artistic journey because I had support without parents.’ Starting her singing journey from Hindu hymns, she is now planning to release a Christian song with music videos in the near future.
