Thailand takes a giant leap closer to becoming ASEAN’s

A recently approved $45 billion investment in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is set to solidify the country’s position as ASEAN’s regional aerospace hub. “As one of the most visited countries in the world year after year, Thailand is ready to embrace its future as the most significant aerospace hub in the ASEAN region,” says Mr. Chokedee Kaewsang, Deputy Secretary General of Thailand Board of Investment. “The passing of the EEC bill is an exciting development, and we look forward to our country’s aerospace sector continuing its meteoric growth in the coming years.”

The Eastern Economic Corridor bill will earmark these funds for the general development of the region, including, most notably, U-Tapao’s future Aeropolis – an entire city infrastructure built around said airport – and will likely help Thailand surpass the USD $9.3 billion of foreign investment the country drew in 2017 for the EEC. The earmarked funds will also cover the construction of a motorway, deep sea ports, a high-speed railway linking the country’s three major airports (Suvarnabhumi, U-Tapao, and Don Mueang), and other infrastructural developments.

“improperly shared” the personal data of up to 2.7 million people in the EU

The EU wrote to Facebook last week to ask how many Europeans were affected by the growing scandal over the harvesting of personal data which was then shared with British political consultancy Cambridge Analytica.  Facebook has admitted it may have “improperly shared” the personal data of up to 2.7 million people in the European Union, the bloc announced Friday.  The EU justice commissioner, Vera Jourova, will speak to Facebook’s chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, early next week to discuss what steps the company is taking to address the breach. Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg said on Thursday that around the world as many as 87 million people could be affected by the breach.

Trump makes headlines on another unpredictable day in work

After the West Virginia event came to an end, the president returned to Washington aboard Air Force One, but wasn’t done grabbing headlines. The president surprised reporters on the plane by taking questions after making an appearance in the main cabin. “Did you know about the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels?” a reporter asked the president.  “No,” Trump responded.  The real first sign that Thursday was going to be a particularly tumultuous day for Donald Trump came at the start of what was billed to be a West Virginia roundtable about tax reform.

“This was going to be my remarks,” Trump told his West Virginia audience while holding up a copy of  prepared talking points. “It would have taken about two minutes, but, to hell with it. Reading off the first paragraph, I said, ‘This is boring.’ Come on. Tell it like it is.” What followed next had nothing to do with tax reform. The president proceeded to resurrect his own conspiracy theory about why he trailed Hillary Clinton by nearly 3 million votes in the 2016 election. “In many places, like California, the same person votes many times,” Trump said. “You’ve probably heard about that. They always like to say, ‘Oh, that’s a conspiracy theory.’ It’s not a conspiracy theory, folks. Millions and millions of people.”

No credible evidence has been presented to support Trump’s voter fraud claims, and he quickly moved on to another highly charged assertion. Referencing his incendiary campaign launch, during which he portrayed Mexican immigrants as “rapists,” Trump appeared to concoct another unverifiable story. “Everybody said, ‘Oh, he was so tough,’ and I used the word rape,” Trump said before referencing an annual symbolic caravan of Honduran immigrants in Mexico.  “And yesterday it came out where this journey coming up, women are raped at levels that nobody has ever seen before. They don’t want to mention that.” It was unclear what news report the president might be referring to. Although some Honduran immigrants have fled their home country because of violence, including rape, no recent news stories about rape and this year’s caravan could be sourced.

Remembering heroes Tomb Sweeping Day

As part of the activities during the Qingming Festival, or China’s Tomb Sweeping Day, people pay respects to the revolutionary martyrs and national heroes who shed their blood in their service for the country. n Tongliao City of north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, over 1,500 people came to the city’s martyrs’ cemetery, laying wreaths and flowers in front of the martyrs’ monument and paying silent tribute to the sacrifices that were made for their country.  Over the last few years, China’s top leadership has stressed the importance of remembering the sacrifice of the country’s national heroes.

“They sacrificed themselves for the country and its people. We should never forget them,” said Zhao Ruilan, a veteran who was there on the day. Meanwhile, in south China’s Guangdong Province, officers of a local C oast Guard unit lined up on their patrol boat, tossing flower petals into the sea in memory of their fallen comrades. “This commemoration is not only a purification of our spirit, but also a call of duty. We work hard with the revolutionary forefathers as our role models, inheriting their spiritual legacy and conscientiously taking on our responsibilities,” said Chen Lin, a Coast Guard officer.

President Xi Jinping has been an example for others, by paying tribute to martyrs and national heroes, as well as by meeting the martyrs’ descendants, every time he visits historical revolutionary base areas in China. Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has stressed on several occasions that “a nation that is hopeful cannot be without heroes, and a promising country cannot be without pioneers,” a sentiment he shared during a ceremony in 2015 where he awarded medals to veterans who fought in World War II.

Everything you always wanted having sex on a plane

Attention to detail will hopefully make this the best sex on a plane article online, as prepared and shared by saucydates.com. Not only will you find the best locations, but the make and model of aircraft and even which airline! There are also a few more surprises on the way.  Technically it’s not really the mile high club as a plane cruises at 37,000 feet which is 7 miles. At 1 mile (5,280 feet), you’re well into final approach, flaps are being deployed and a few minutes later so will the landing gear. Hardly the right time for a quickie when the cabin crew are asking you to open the blind and fold your tray table. This was a jumbo survey to get some great stats and results. We surveyed an international audience of 11,179 people over our dating network and asked the following:

Sex on a plane . . .

Would like to?
No way
Already done it!

For those that had, we asked a lot of follow up questions:

Where did you have sex on a plane?
Who did you have sex with?
Was it day time or night time?
How long did sex last? (intercourse, not foreplay)
What was the airline name?
What was the type of plane?
Did you get caught?

Africa safari trip a trek

In Swahili, safari means “journey,” and an African safari is definitely a journey that brings the amazing world of animals (i.e., lions and tigers, elephants and rhinos) – up close and personal. Historically, safaris were linked with hunting of big game; however, with poaching illegal and conservation and sustainability at the top of travelers’ consciousness, most safaris today focus on observation, and appreciation, with “shooting” limited to photography of animals, landscapes and sunsets. Safaris enable visitors to experience “for themselves” what they have previously seen only on television, in wildlife documentaries, or magazines and books.

Traveling to Africa requires a commitment. There is no quick way to reach the continent, and there is no quick way to transit from one city to the other or from one country to the other. Advance planning is a necessity, and this includes time management and a confirmed detailed itinerary. Africa is not easily accessible for many travelers. The scarcity of public transportation and infrequent airline schedules makes FIT travel challenging, and the limited road signage, sparse roadside assistance (i.e., petrol stations, restaurants and lavatories, emergency services) makes self-drive holidays a test of resourcefulness and flexibility.  Safaris are an important part of the travel industry. There are increasingly large threats to the “natural world,” and the bad guys are anxious to destroy animals, plant life, and pollute the landscape. The focus on “safari tourism,” dedicated to sustainability and the continuation of animal life in the wild, provides the financial resources required by governments and the private sector to maintain the national parks and protect the animals.

Establishes first oceanic no-take zones – Brazil makes history

Establishes first oceanic no-take zones.  No-take zones will cover 11,691,798 hectares (28,891,062 acres or 45,142 square miles), encompassing part of the islands, seamounts, and relevant features of the seabed, while the entire EEZ around the archipelagos will become multiple-use reserves, an additional 80,942,945 hectares (200,014,373 acres or 312,522 square miles) placed under sustainable use regimes.   A two-year campaign which united civil society organizations, researchers, and industry leaders resulted in a landmark achievement today as the President of Brazil, Michel Temer, published today in the National Federal Registry two decrees establishing the Marine Protected Areas of São Pedro & São Paulo and Trindade & Martim Vaz archipelagos, bringing the country´s MPA coverage to approximately 25% of its jurisdictional waters. The areas will be jointly managed by the National Biodiversity Institute and the Navy, which should develop management plans in the next 180 days.
