NMA unidentified 403 mountains

KATHMANDU, Sep 29: Since 1 decade the government has identified 403 mountains but half of the mountains have no way to reach its base camp and no possibilities of infrastructural development have been seen till now.  President of the Association, Santabir lama said that, 100’s of mountains of our country are unidentified so we are ready to develop these areas in the favor of government and tourism.

In the 28th General assemble, President Lama assured to manage the promotional activities of the small mountains and increase the number of tourists in those places. Mountain climbing is one of the major sources of income of Nepal, he added. NMA is currently responsible for 15 mountains. NMA is the association that has more than 1500 national and international members. It is the joint organization of the countries having Himalayas.  In the Assemble, Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari said that Tourism is one of the major aspect of economical development of the country so we must stay together and also they are planning to identify the unidentified mountains and work on their promotion.  Due to which we are not able to promote these places properly. Due to weak infrastructures people are not allowed to climb those mountains. Due to various problems Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has requested government to give them the responsibilities of those places.
