India Thailand Cultural Festival celebrates in India

The best of Thai culture, crafts, and products will be the focus in New Delhi, India, from March 3 to 5, when the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Royal Thai Embassy, and others celebrate the Namaste Thailand Culture Festival 2017 to mark 70 years of bilateral relations between India and Thailand. A festival will be held in the Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi, where artists and craftsmen will showcase “made in Thailand” products, which are expected to boost trade and relations between the two countries. Thailand is perhaps the only country to have a separate office to promote conventions and exhibitions in India. Thailand and India have cross-histories going back to 329 BC when the Indian Emperor Ashoka sent Sona and Uttra to Suvanabhumi to spread the message of Buddhism in Thailand. TAT has been of the more active national tourist organizations in India for many years.  Diplomatic relations between Thailand and India were established soon after India gained independence in August 1947.
