Sahas Urja Limited is concluding the IPO issue for 7,000,000 units of ordinary shares worth Rs. 70 crores to the general public today, i.e. Ashwin 10, 2078. NIBL Ace Capital Limited has been appointed as the issue manager for the IPO issuance. According to CDSC, 17,86,270 applicants have applied for a total of 2,54,87,830 units. This is the data as of 5: 10 pm last Friday. Thus, the issue was already oversubscribed over 3.95 times on the third day itself. This is 20% of the total issued capital. From the total of 70,00,000 units, 3,50,000 units i.e., 5% are for the mutual funds. 3% of the total units i.e., 2,10,000 units are for the employee of the company, and the remaining 64,40,000 units are for the general public.  Applications can be placed for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 1,050,000 units.

Huawei Technologies’ CFO Meng Wanzhou has arrived in China after nearly three years of detention in Canada.

A charter flight arranged by the Chinese government carrying Meng has landed at an airport in Shenzhen.

Meng gave a brief speech at the airport:

“It’s really a big struggle for me. But when I came down and set foot on Chinese soil, I feel the warmth and I’m so thrilled.”

It came after Meng pleaded not guilty to all charges against her and reached a deferred prosecution agreement with U.S. prosecutors on Friday afternoon in a virtual hearing in New York.

U.S. prosecutors agreed to defer Meng’s prosecution until Dec. 1, 2022.

Meng was arbitrarily detained for more than 1,000 days in Canada.

According to the agreement, the U.S. Department of Justice will dismiss the indictment against Meng as well as the underlying charging instruments against her as long as Meng remains in full compliance with her obligations under the agreement for the deferred period.

China’s foreign ministry speaks on Meng Wanzhou’s return

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson says the Chinese side’s position on Meng Wanzhou’s case has been consistent and clear.

Hua Chunying says facts have proven that it is a political persecution case targeting a Chinese national with the aim of suppressing Chinese high-tech companies.

Hua says the so-called fraud charges against Meng are nothing but pure fabrication, adding that even the HSBC — the “victim” named by the U.S. side — has released files proving Meng’s innocence.

The spokesperson says what the United States and Canada have done is a typical case of arbitrary detention.

Huawei says will ‘defend itself’ against U.S. legal claims as executive freed

Chinese telecom giant Huawei has said it will ‘defend itself’ against legal claims that it flouted U.S. sanctions after officials dropped fraud charges against its top executive Meng Wanzhou and ended a three-year stand-off.

The company says it will continue to defend itself against the allegations in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Eric Chu wins in KMT chairmanship election

Former New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu has been elected the 11th chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party.

The official results show Eric Chu won over 45 percent of the votes on Saturday.

About 370,000 party members were eligible to vote and the voter turnout is over 50 percent.

China’s 5G phone shipments surge nearly 80 pct in Jan.-Aug.

Official figures show shipments of 5G phones in China surged nearly 80 percent year on year to 168 million units in the first eight months of this year.

The volume accounts for 74 percent of the country’s total mobile phone shipments during the period.

Half of the 296 newly-released mobile phone models during this period were 5G phones.

In August alone, China shipped about 18 million units of 5G phones, up 9 percent year on year.

“I, today, invite vaccine manufacture around the world — come, make vaccines in India,” PM Modi said while addressing the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.
“I want to give this information to UNGA that India has developed the world’s first DNA vaccine, which can be administered to all people above 12 years of age. Another mRNA vaccine is in its last phase of development. India’s scientists are also engaged in the development of a nasal vaccine for Corona,” he said.
